Can't believe this is quite as wide as it is with out too much distortion!
Great day out, my first day out with other photographers (dyxum or otherwise) and was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Thanks to the three of you for making it what it was. Look forward to seeing the pictures soon. |

Great shot Bob. Nice to see some faces of famous names. Did you use a remote and tripod or did you trust a stranger to use your NEX7

Wow Bob, that was quick posting...
Only been home an hour and already a placeholder and an image! Thanks from me to the other three members - Pete, Bob and Simon especially for organizing the 'two for one' vouchers Great to have met you all (Bob again) and it has to be said these are fine days out - unstressed, fun and we all had a great time. I would encourage more members to organise local meets like this Best regards to all and images to follow.... Neil. |

Some from the butterfly house.
I had been looking forward to trying some butterfly photography and the butterfly house did not disappoint, although the levels of condensation on equipment was rather alarming... I did have the idea of shooting the guide on the wall and saying whet each of these was, but I can't make head not tail of them.. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 ps. In looking again at #7, I wasn't happy with the line above the butterfly that I'd allowed to creep in with my quick and dirty DXO process... here is a second go aimed at minimising the effect... #7b Edited by Bob J - 11 November 2012 at 13:44 |

Some great shots Bob, especially like number 1 for the fold in the leaf and the tight crop on the right and then number 7 for the great background colours (where the devil did you find the blue?!).

It was the very artificial blue on one of those little feeding tables - thrown well out of focus...

Thanks bob - you're not the only one; I was dead chuffed one of them had come out in focus! And Neil, really like the framing of the heron with the branches. That green branch in bottom left is a bit distracting though so I wonder if you could get away with a contrasty b+w? I prefer yours to mine though! Great shot of the tiger yawning too, I missed that as well. Doh! Edited by Tricky01 - 11 November 2012 at 16:50 |

I thought about that green branch long and hard... Cropping makes the framing too tight in my eyes - perhaps the B&W is the next step! Love the butterfly images BTW - will have to see what mine give me.
Great sets so far, Kind regards, Neil. |
