I am watching this meeting develop with envy - sounds like a great event with a wonderful group. I must say, European weather forecasters must be far, far advanced beyond those in the U.S. Accurately predicting tomorrow's weather is quite the challenge here! |

Well Roger, predicting the weather far out is very easy, the real hard part is getting it right
Btw, the weather looks much worse now for the 23rd, but the same happened with our Haarlem meeting last year. Some people cancelled at the last moment because the forecast was bad, but in the end we had a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and majestic clouds. |

The weather forecaster's hall of fame is very small Roger.

It often happens I look outside and see the sun is shining wheras the weather says it's raining. Even predicting the actual weather right, which of course is not a prediction, is beyond those guys.

Sunday appears now to be the worst day in the 14 day prediction, but if the prediction shifts by a day our future already looks much brighter. So let us not despair. And I always think about the National Park ranger in Jasper (Canadian Rockies) when I asked him about the weather. He said, there is never bad weather, there is only inappropriate clothing. Mind you, after that we were caught out in the snow on a mountain hike and had to find our way not being able to see the path. Clothing was fine, satellite navigation would have been nice. If Maassluis is really bad we can go to the museum earlier and take the shuttle bus up and down to Van Nelle
But just think about Haarlem last year, a really bad forecast with lots of rain, and nothing of that materialised, we had sun and blue skies. So I'm still hopeful. I might even be more worried if Maasluis now shows "sunny", I think the chance they've got it wrong is higher than the chance they've got it right |

And my equipment bag:
A7Rii + A7ii, E10-18/4 (APS-C, still plenty 18 MP on the Rii), M-Elmar 50/3.5, Industar 53/2.8, M-Summicron 50/2 DR and OM Zuiko 85/2. I've got room for one or two more lenses, so if anybody has any wishes let me know. |
