Howard (Howard_S), Mike (mikey2000) and I got together today for a mini-meet at Milton Keynes. We spent our time at Campbell Park. The group photo shows us in front of the Pyramid of Light.

Mike (right), Howard (in the middle), Harald (left). More images will follow.

Great! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first Dyxum meeting group shot without a camera in sight

Looking forward to more!

Yes, it was good fun and a pleasure to meet both Harald and Mike for the first time.

Until I get sorted with my digital photos, can I share the one Instax print I made yesterday? I'm pretty sure there isn't an atom of instant photography in the Minolta heritage, but here we are - same subject, no people.

A fine start, Howard.   Has it actually definitely completely finished developing yet?

Here are my first three Pyramid pics. More to come! I need to write a short speech before 4pm this afternoon, so not much time for Lightroom today

Pyramid of Light, Framed by nature

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: Lensbaby Velvet 56mm F1.8 | Focal Length: 56 mm | Aperture: f/5.6 | Exposure Time: 1/4000 sec | ISO: 100

Walking away from the Pyramid of Light

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: 135mm F2.8 [T4.5] STF | Focal Length: 135 mm | Aperture: f/4.5 | Exposure Time: 0.003 sec (1/320) | ISO: 100 Cropped a bit (a lot!)

A couple more images:

#1 Pyramid of Light - different perspective

#2 Pyramid of Light - and some arrows

#3 ... which some time later turned out to be this:

#4 Man in the trees

#5 Two men in the sky

#6 ... and it's all the same sculpture ("Chain Reaction" - celebrating all those who were part of the creation of MK)

All images: A99M2 with Sigma Art F/4 24-105mm

A quality over quantity DM mini-meet and what's been posted so far looks great - looking forward to seeing more.

I have many more! but my computer is playing silly games again. A few months back, I ended up reformatting to solve the multiple failed boots and random lockups.

It seemed OK until a few days ago and it's getting worse again.   I just spent a frustrating 45 mins to get it to boot properly.    I'm starting to suspect some kind of weird RAM error (but system stress tests report No Fault Found). Hmm.

Anyway, that was the 45 mins I had to myself today and now it's bedtime before an early rise tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that, Mike: I hope you find a fix soon.

I'll continue with Chain Reaction, also pictured by Harald above.

6

In the trees | A7 III and Tamron SP 70-300mm USD

7

Chain reaction | A7 III and FE 28mm F2 + Ultra Wide Converter (= 21mm)

8

Reach for the sky | A7 III and FE 28mm F2 + Ultra Wide Converter (= 21mm)

9

Chain reaction /colour | A7 III and FE 28mm F2 + Ultra Wide Converter (= 21mm)
Alternative title - Triple Whammy: three-frame HDR (sorry!) showing Chain Reaction (three figures), Light Pyramid, and the emerging Big Top. (I'll put this one in the Dreaded HDR themed view as well.)

10

Chain reaction /mono | A7 III and FE 28mm F2 + Ultra Wide Converter (= 21mm)
I think I prefer this straight mono conversion, using B&W10 in the new Lightroom profiles and boosting the contrast a little.

Rather good - I don't think my Chain Reaction pics will touch those ones... Bravo!

I've just dragged my computer back to life and quickly polished off the Pyramid Photos....

Some more lensbaby Pyramid

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: Lensbaby Velvet 56mm F1.8 | Focal Length: 56 mm | Aperture: f/2.0 | undefined | ISO: 100

The Wider View

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 | Focal Length: 24 mm | Aperture: f/11.0

Sentinel

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: 135mm F2.8 [T4.5] STF | Focal Length: 135 mm | Aperture: f/4.5 | Exposure Time: 0.001 sec (1/1000) | ISO: 100

Pyramid Impression

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: Lensbaby Velvet 56mm F1.8 | Focal Length: 56 mm | Aperture: f/5.6 | Exposure Time: 0.001 sec (1/2000) | ISO: 100

On the whole the overcast sky was pretty flat and dull but at least the leaves were starting to turn...

Velvet Autumn

Camera Model: ILCA-99M2 | Lens: Lensbaby Velvet 56mm F1.8 | Focal Length: 56 mm | Aperture: f/2.8 | undefined | ISO: 100
