April has been quite busy in regards to meeting up with fellow Dyxumers. It was great that Harald was able to meet up with me one afternoon this week when I was in Berlin to pick up some Stem Cells.. Harald met me at the Olympic stadium (I'm trying to visit as many as I can, I've been to the 3 UK ones, Stockholm, Munich and Melbourne, and can now add Berlin..)
First the 'group shot' - two versions: b1. This taken using the smartremote app - so just JPG and as Harald pointed out, against the light.. a7ii * Carl Zeiss G 28 * f/8.0 * 1/80 * ISO 100 b2. ..and a rather better lit version, utilizing the camera's self timer and Harald's very portable travel tripod.. a7ii * Carl Zeiss G 28 * f/8.0 * 1/400 * ISO 100 b3. Monolith moment a7ii * Carl Zeiss G 28 * f/8.0 * 1/1250 * ISO 100 It was very good to meet up with Harald and get a deeper insight into the city than I have on previous occasions I've visted.. |

Hi Bob,
Good to see you extending both the range of Olympic stadia visited and, more importantly, getting to meet some of our members in person. Love the second 'group shot' as well! The last shot, though, is a cracker - brave to shoot so directly into the light and how fortunate someone put that column there The formatting of the image is just right; nice base to sit the image space on and a good sense of scale from the column. I also like the way the clouds curve round the upper part of the image as well - overall a very pleasing image! Best regards, Neil. |

Good to see the two of you on site at the Berlin Olympic stadium, and these photos for starters - looking forward to seeing more.
That third one has a slightly sinister look of "2001 - a Space Odyssey" about it. |

Great to see more meeting threads and now being able to put a face to the name for Harald. I hope one day we get to meet in person.
I like the second group shot a lot. Good poses and a nice backdrop. |

Wonderful set, Harald. Love your various images of the stadium's colonnade (an austere modern take on a coliseum colonnade), particularly #1, the abstraction of #3 the running shadows, as well as #5 the overall view from the belltower with Berlin in the distance.
And Bob's looking very chuffed to be there in #9. Hope there's more? TFS. |

Lovely pictures Harald and Bob. I've just added another "must see" venue on the list for a trip to Berlin!
I especially like Harald's "running shadows" and Bob's "seats". For the latter I assume you looked for a row 42, but didn't find one |

Great pics! It looks like you had the stadium completely to yourselves.
Particularly like the view from the bell tower (colour version), the IR of the stadium interior and the seats (this last one looks a bit eerie with the countless rows stretching into the distance - maybe I ould have cropped out the back wall to emphasise this effect even more). Thanks for sharing. |
