This is a bit of a taster-come-placeholder - more shots will follow.

In addition to the great day out with everyone at the Ansel Adams exhibition at Greenwich on the 6 April 2013, Jet, Tim, Leo and I also did some forays into the city on the days either side - we thought it might be nice to show those pics in this separate thread...

1795 shots to process from the 3 days, so had to clear space on my computer before I could even load them and haven't even seen them all yet.

I'll start with the Ansel Adams shots, but I suspect I'll be posting in this thread for months to come

Thank you so much Bob for putting us up, for giving us a fun and very knowledgable tour round London and even arranging for Spring to finally arrive
Tim

I wouldn't even sell it for the price that I paid for it Simon
(although I confess it's been a while since I used it as much as I did this weekend)

But you are missing one factor: you'll only ever see the shots where people have got the focus correct - in my case that's between a 1/2 and 2/3rds of them (and less when indoors where the light loss is a hindrance)

Besides - surely manual focus doesn't fit with the speed of your wild west, gunslinger setup:

@Jet: "she is the one surviving" : just
Really like your series from the Tate: fitting that you managed to make so many artistic shots from the a large concrete hole.

And I love your reflection of the bridge, adding interest and a nice twist to the subject.

@Bob: WOW, all but one with the Samyang and make some superb use of it.
Leo was pointing out how well it preserves details in the sky, and your whole series demonstrate that from start to finish.
Picking out a few:

#3: Really like the big sky here or is that an alien planet about to land on St. Pauls?

#7: A superb choice of POV - almost adding a musical feel and wish I'd spotted that!

#11: such an unusual angle on the eye, as if we're inside a dome

#14: a lovely bit of drama with the silhouette and that wonderful sky

#15: quintessential British: I like your selective colour version, but maybe the full colour ones even more so

#17: all that climbing was well worth the effort - London just seeming to go on forever (and I'd not spotted those holes in the dome)

#20:
Tim

It's time we give Bob and Jet some company. All with NEX-5N + CZ 24/1.8; exif inside. All from our first day (Friday April 5).

1 When I saw her standing there

2 The Globe (sponsored by Deutsche Bank)

3 Millennium Bridge

And a few of Tate Modern. For me this building was a wonderful surprise. And it was warm inside! This former power station is an imposing structure and combines very well with modern art.

4 Realism

5 Lady waiting for Art

6 TNEVE TRA 1 LEVEL EMOCLEW

7 Children in space
