Or more accurately, three Dyxumers, two Smiths, six Danish men and one Danish woman do Wales in typically Welsh weather...
In early May, just after getting back from Poland I went on a trip to Wales in the company of Martin (mgjsmith) , Kenny (jkp1), Martin’s brother Steven and six other Danes who had come over with Kenny (if you are trying to reconcile this with the rundown in the first para, think venn diagrams). Unfortunately both Martin and Kenny were somewhat hampered during the week and probably didn't shoot as much as I did, so I might dominate a bit here, but I hope they will also manage to add some pics. 1. Wales in may is lush and green.. 2. ..with lots of sheep The first day started out at Tenby - it was raining so we took cover in a local church.. 3. Lecturn 4. Altar 5. Font 6. Choir stalls 7. Wooden cross 8. Prayer books |

Ah, St. Mary's, lovely and famous 13th century church and well captured Bob.
Did you take any pictures of the bosses supporting the 'wagon' roof? |

Excellent!
@Nigel: The little bits under the circular beams on the inside of the roof? If so I included them in some shots but did not get details (was running wide angles indoors). If outside, pointing up only would have filled the lens hood with water... A few more from soggy Tenby 9. Beached boats 10. So much rain, we didn't even qualify for a horizon.. 11. No cycling 12. More beached boats We then moved on towards Milford Haven: unfortunately it was too rough for the boat over to Skomer.. 13. More warning signs 14. Streamlined trees 15. Blue sky! 16. The sign says it all |

Rotfl !
Really....a country full of signs. They just miss a sign saying "Beware of signs !" "Not qualifying for a horizon" should also require some kind of sign to warn people not to go too far to not fall down now the horizon has gone..... |

Hi Guys,
Great see the Welsh Spring giving you the best of it's weather! Some fine images nevertheless, especially so given the conditions. Loved the UWA in the church (note to self; must get one of those one day..) and great to see 'Mr Smith' again - looks like his old, usual self! BTW - I am not so sure you weren't lucky that the Skomer boat wasn't available: Skomer Boat Sinking Mind you - could have been a good thread! Looking forward to further, eclectic, images form the trip. Best regards, Neil. |

Well well well, what a great start!! I must admit that I was hugely disappointed that I could not conjure up some better weather for our visitors to Wales. To be perfectly honest it was absolute SH1T, nevertheless, as is always the case camaraderie and good humour will always shine through even though the sun does not! I will do my best to post some soggy (damp) pics in due course and perhaps some that show us in a better light. I would also stress that shot K12 is purely for Kenny's benefit - there is always a welcome for Dyxumers at our home and believe me we have had a few!! Regards, Martin

St. Govans head.....nice to see that the Photoshop "Anti-rain Bat-spray"-filter works.
Bob, nice views, B&W may be the right way to go for these shots. As an side-note....even the rain couldn´t spoil the trip for the friends from Denmark. They all expresses happiness about our trip and i should say a big thank you to all you 4 brits/welsh. Except one, all got the stomach problem, so leaving for a prolonged car tour and a flight to home was not that fun with so many people running in and out of toilets. Anyhow, it was good it showed its face at the end of last day so the trip wasn't spoiled at all. |

Nice read and view.
Great landscapes and seascapes Love K13 cause it misses a reference for its scale. Could have been a macro shot as well and K24, impressive rocks Bob, very nice leading lines in 4 ( church) both in shot and architecture. I was in wales a couple of years ago, with better weather: More signs please, more landscape please, more pubs please |

Hoping to be in west Wales in August.
When it's sunny it is God's own country. When it rains (and it does doesn't it?) it is still beautiful. Great shots folks. Cymru am byth! |
