This thread is for the photos taken on the 3rd day of our Dyxum meeting in Wrocław.
This time our "full AMAE pack" intended to wander around Wrocław itself. Plans were quite nice and extensive but everything was really against us: starting from the weather (a drizzle all day long with temperatures below 10 degrees I believe) to strange approach of museums. You know, it was a public holiday in Poland so I would expect that museums will take opportunity and will be opened inviting people to visit them ... nope ![]() ![]() So, after taking a short look around the cathedral (a service was almost starting so we left the church) and having some coffee in a nice restaurant on Ostrów Tumski we went to the National Museum to only find out that it is closed ![]() Hopefully to cheer us up a bit we had a chance to visit the St Adalbert Church with its fantastic Baroque Chapel of Blessed Czesław Odrowąż and then we were lucky to get to the Church Of The Name Of Jesus (aka University Church) where we met a very kind and helpful guide who turned out to be ... an alpha shooter too (we invited him to join Dyxum and enjoy our forum, so kudos to Krawinho for guiding us in the church ![]() Finally we wandered around the center, had a beer (or coffee) in an restaurant and then we headed to Mikres - for a dinner and Caloric Bomb (tm) as a dessert ![]() ![]() Links: DM Wrocław 2013, May 1st DM Wrocław 2013, May 2nd DM Wrocław 2013, May 4th DM Wrocław 2013, May 5th Edited by MiPr - 07 May 2013 at 12:33 |

May 3rd was indeed a very wet day, but still Mirek brought us to some nice places, the nicest in the evening where a wonderful meal was prepared by the Mikre family and we were hosted in their residence. So all is well that ends well

Fantastic shots Pieter. Those droplets on #1 on the bottom of buckets are just lovely. Nicely spotted on #4. Just an explanation about the calorie bomb: it is meringue with a whipped cream (36% fat) - really a Claorie Bomb. Thanks guys and gals that you helped me to deal with it - otherwise I would have to eat it all by myself. Yumm!

Bad weather? Nah, it was the weather that provided us with an unique opportunity to take shots we would not take otherwise

Pieter: very nice shot of Tim and it was fun witnessing 'the making of'. Pity there are other people in the shot; it would have been more 'decisive' without them.
Domien: you squeezed the details out alright! And there's no lack of details in these baroque churches. But I like the relatively simple #5 too. And your 'Sad girl' is a nice quarttych. Was this the 70-300? |

@Domien: Sad Girl
I'm slightly distracted by the varying exposures and particularly the shot top right being darker, but otherwise, this is superb ![]() (I remember seeing her, as we sat and had our coffee in the rain, but thought photos would disturb her from my end of the table!) And some great shots in the churches, nicely capturing the intricate details covering almost every inch of wall Edited by tigertimb - 09 May 2013 at 00:22 |

@ Pieter:
#6 raises a smile and #8 looks good enough to eat ![]() And most impressed with your processing of #7, handling the details in the light and shadows but maintaining a natural feel. And nice timing and fun with #3; but it would be more impressive if we'd found a bigger puddle, particularly as I'm jumping downhill ![]() |

May 3 was definitely the wettest day of our visit, so it also has the lowest number of shots (from me at least). Only 167
