Bill, with that kind of username I'm sure you're pretty much incorrigible.

When in Charlotte late Summer of '22, I came away with a $5 Minolta XE-5 and a T-shirt from Biggs Camera. I love camera stores with lots of used equipment, Biggs definitely scratches that itch. Yeah, incorriblpe is pretty accurate...

In post-Covid19 China most of stuff is sold online, where my search skills are sorely tested. And the work schedule doesn't really allow for looking.

Plus I'm not sure, I have anything I covet at the moment 🤷

Black Friday is past us and no new reports? ;)
Waiting for the cyber Monday week? :)

I have to confess I will have some reporting to do... Unless I get a dud and will return, but I hope not this time.

Well, on 1 December I'll have gone 4 months without any new lenses purchased. We will await your report/confession and hope it won't be too long to wait

I did take advantage of Black Friday to purchase a discounted Lexar 320GB CFExpress Card. Sometimes for video or high speed bursts with the α1, having the data pipeline of a CFExpress Card is handy.

I did succumb to GAS last week. An area camera store had an EXPO over the weekend offering trade-in bonus and BF specials. Gathered up a large amount of old gear that was sitting around for just this kind of situation. Got a decent offer, and they had a mint- used RX100 VII at 10% off. So got this very pretty little camera for less than 1/2 the new price and still have almost $200 left from my trade-in. My old RX100 II has gotten very long in the tooth, and the VII has so much more to offer as an all around traveler. The only thing I will miss is hot-shoe from the II.

No major gear purchases in the recent times despite all the sales frenzy. The most obvious photography related item was a cheap 1 TB Pergear CFExpress type A card, although I am now little reserved if I did make the right move as apparently Pergear online store ships from China and the cheap price didn't include any taxes, so it might be that Finnish Customs will be asking to pay VAT on top of this. But at least with that card I can happily shoot as much as I want, especially as I already in summer I got 1 TB Angelfire card.
And with the sale prices I got a new external HDD (14 TB) and a new external SSD (4 TB), so I will have disk space for all those thousands photos (at least for a while) I'll take. HDD is for backups and SSD mainly for laptop usage.
And slightly less directly camera related purchase is two new pairs of liner gloves for my Heat Company Shell winter gloves. And the couple merino wool long johns I bought are even less directly related to photography, but I guess I will wear those also on outdoor photography sessions when it is cold.

I picked up a 4TB WD Black SN850X for $230. Supposedly the SandDisk Extreme portable drive I ordered back in July for the same price has the same unit inside it, so this wasn't as good of deal. I don't like external storage. 8TB flash drives are still crazy priced, but not as crazy as what Apple charges.

I just picked up a rare Seagull DF-103 -- very early 35mm Chinese SLR. The seller said the shutter was dead, and that the leatherette was pealing off. So I got it for a song.

The leatherette was easy to fix with some PLIO-BOND, and the shutter works fine -- once I pressed the seft-timer release button, which apparently the seller didn't know about.

The luck of the Irish. It's TUMS for my GAS.

So, as a result, I splurged. I now have a compact Tamron 24-70mm AF zoom on the way -- in perfect shape for $20. That's NOT for my Seagull, but for my Sony.

The 24-70/2.8 GM II arrived and it seems to be an OK copy, better than my SAL 24-70/2.8 SSM. It will replace that latter, 15 year old lens. It was a really good one and will stay to be still paired with Dynax 7 and a900.

From pure GAS (and some nostalgia) I bought Minolta AF 400mm F4.5 APO G HS and Minolta AF 300mm F2.8 APO G HS. I have been looking at the wholly impractical Minolta AF 600mm F4 APO G HS but decided against it (it does not fit in my lens cabinets).
