So it appears Zeiss FE lens purchased in Canada also include guarantee for Europe.
An alternative explanation would be that this lens is a gray market import. The Sony warranty might be good only in Europe.

Hi,

A few years back I purchased a 70-300 G in the USA, said lens had to be repaired due to a squeak when focusing after about 10 or 11 months. Sony repaired the lens under warranty in their U.K repair center with no fuss at all.

Shame that appears to be changing

I don't know what you consider "a few years back" but the post mentioning the change in policy was from 2010.

I bought the lens from a retail store (Sony Authorized dealer) and inside the box, it has both the Canadian warranty card as well as the European warranty card. It is not a gray market import.

Bought a LA-E4 today and the warranty card specifically says that its only valid in Japan, about what one can expect from Sony these days with their special Japanese firmware and what not on the cameras.

I wonder if its still possible to get an international warranty if one asks at one of their stores. Osaka is 30 minutes away by train but I'm quite busy before going home to the mother country and wonder if its even worth to consider.

Creds to Tamron for giving out international warranties as soon as one emails them.

Sony does offer their export models for tourists but only at larger stores. Prices tend to be a bit higher but the benefit is international warranty and menu language options for cameras.

Although I’m a little bit afraid that a sample I’ll get can have some defects that I will not be able to find out before coming back. That’s the reason I would like to know if I buy a lens there I can have it fixed/replaced for free in Poland (in other words, is US warranty also valid in Europe)?
Thanks for answer.

Ahoy Kris!

Did you contact your regional Sony agent and ask them? It would've been quicker and the reply would be from the horses mouth thereby no second guessing. Seems like the logical thing to do

Pirate,
You know he asked the question in 2007 and hasn't logged in to the forum since 2011. I don't think you'll get an answer.
