Not a very special gate in general (a new metal one replaced the original wooden gate doors) and not a very special or good photo (composition, iso 12800) but there's two things that make it still worthwhile to post (imo)

First, it's the gate to the inner court of the house of my great-grandfather and where my grandfather was born in 1892. The house is still in the family.

Secondly there's a sign above the gate (the metal cylinder with the 4 semi-circles sticking out) that indicates the inhabitants had a permit to distill alcohol, and indeed my great-grandfather was in that business and produced the local gin that he sold to the pubs in the neighbourhood. The permit is long gone but the sign is still there.
