The second of our Dyxum.com Photo Challenges has the theme of "On holiday" and we are leaving it wide open to you to post images that meet the theme.
The pics must be taken with a Dynax 7D or 5D, but any lens will be OK.
Only two entries per competition per member will be accepted.
Please post your images at an easily viewable size.

Eligibility
You must be a registered member of Dyxum.com to enter. The administrators of Dyxum.com are not eligible but may provide “guideline” theme pics for the start of a competition.

Details
Each photo must be given a name, for voting purposes. Please include relevant EXIF info for exposure and ISO, as well as the lens type and filters/converters used. For heavily processed shots an indication of the work done would be appreciated.

Competition format
The administrators of Dyxum.com will select between three and five finalists from the shots entered and these will be listed for all members to vote on – a maximum of three points for any one shot, and one point for one of the others you like (this may change if there are more entries this time). The voting period for this first competition will be at least one week from the announcement of the finalists.

Photo size and linking
At this time we don't have sufficient web space to host your images. For that reason, you will need another hosting site for your images and to post them by entering the image URL in the post (with a the help of the dedicated button)
We recommend to keep image size around 650px so users with smaller monitors will be able to see them without vertical scrolling.

Copyright
The photos entered remain copyrighted by the original photographer, and by entering you are giving permission for the pic/s to be used on this site only. The winning shot may be used for a time on the front page of the Dyxum.com website. You will be contacted about any proposed subsequent promotional use on this site of your pic/s.

Suggestions for next DPC
Please include a suggestion for the next DPC with your entry. The overall winner of this competition will chose from these suggestions.

General rules and intent
The main purpose of DPC is to share our images in an effort to present ourselves as photographers. At the same time I hope that we will share our comments and experiences with each other so each of us can benefit and improve our photographic skills.
- each week we will open a new topic and all registered users are invited to participate. Once a topic is closed and replaced with the new one we at Dyxum will select the best images and open a voting period.
- voting remains open as long the next topic remains open. The winning image is the one with the best voting score and it will be moved to a DPC winners dedicated thread.
- images containing nudity, violence or and any kind of provocative subjects are not allowed.

I am even ashamed ;) to indicate these lens - very ugly, chip Sigma 70-210mm 1:4-5.6 UC II, that I bought on eBay for 38$, just for play with tele lenls. Better tele-lens is out of budget meantime. :(

Where's that sun?
7D + KM 28-75/2.8 D

F11; 1/500; ISO 400; 40mm(60mm 35eqv)
Pattern metering
Taken as a raw file, converted with ACR 3.1, simulated IR filter with NikColorEfex PlugIn (infrared B&W filter)

We had a lot of raining days this season, and most of the tourist haven't really enjoyed our clear and warm sea.

Happy shooting

Why? You got an excellent image, and that's the only thing that really matter. You should be proud not ashamed.
Congrats and happy shooting

To Indigo

I have edited your post to show images. I hope you don't mind for that.

Regard lens used. If you haven't tried, i suggest you a nice utility from Dalibor Jelinek Dalifer

Among other great features, is able to display lens used (well, for most lenses). A must have software for us 7D users IMHO.

Thanks for your images btw.

A little off topic perhaps, DaveMac, but #1 in particular is a nice shot and we are very kind to "newbies" so they stay in on the basis that we tend to associate sunsets with holidays. (And my full name is Cameron Brett Cochrane Hill, so "lang may yer lum reek")
