Hi all, since some months you can send your Dynax 9 directly to Runtime (RTC solutions now!) from wherever you live. Upgrade kits are still available. Is the Dynax / Maxxum 9 upgrade really still available to anyone no matter where you live?
I have sent email inquiring about the SSM upgrade to the RTC email addresses in Rolf's post but have not received a reply. Does anyone know if the upgrade is still available? Rolf? Any help would be appreciated. |

The upgrade is still available,afaik, I had no contact w/ RTC for quite a while though.

I just talked to Mrs.Gautier(nicole.gautier@rtc-solutions.de).RTC still has kits for the upgrade.

Status Report - Minolta Maxxum 9 Upgrade My Minolta Maxxum 9 is at RTC Solutions (formerly RunTime) for the SSM/ADI upgrade. I sent it on September 11, 2015 and it got to Frankfurt on September 14, 2015. Then it spent a little over a week in German Customs at Saarbrucken. Mrs. Gautier(nicole.gautier@rtc-solutions.de) at RTC informed me that my package was opened by German Customs to verify the contents (by the way I double boxed the package with lots of bubble wrap to prevent any damage during shipment). RTC received the camera safely on September 24 and my camera is currently being upgraded. When the upgrade is complete, RTC will send me an invoice for payment which can be made by wire transfer or by PayPal. RTC will then ship my upgraded camera back to me in the USA. RTC quoted the cost of the SSM upgrade to be 280 Euros. When shipping and 19% VAT are added the total comes to just over 400 Euros. Thanks to Rolf for "greasing the skids" with RTC. My email must have gotten lost in the spam folder of Mrs. Gautier but after she was contacted by Rolf, she knew to look for my name on the email and I was able to get an email response from her. Mrs. Gautier has been extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I don't know how many Minolta 9 upgrade kits are still available at RTC, but if you're interested I highly recommend that you contact RTC to see if they can upgrade your Minolta Maxxum/Dynax 9 camera. I am sorry guys, but there is definetely no chance to get an ADI/SSM upgrade for your Dynax 9 done
after end of coming month, as the new company (former RTC/former Runtime/former Konica/Minolta European repair centre) doesn't repair cameras anymore. They also don't' sell the still available upgrade kits, as it makes no sense, because you need special tools to adjust the cam after the kit is installed. |
