@photoboy
No, november! You can place orders till 13th of november 2015: http://www.benway-solutions.de/de/kontakt/kontakt-electronic-repair-center/ Most of the German text is "company restruction bla bla". Konica Minolta European Repair Center, Runtime, RTC, Benway now, all almost the same, just different managements.;-) The techs and the staff are superb, though! The underlying link is bad; this should work.
I don't know the MK guy myself, and I wonder if this would be better coming from a valued customer. Contact details can be found at http://www.camerarepairworkshop.co.uk. |

You are correct. The Minolta Maxxum/Dynax 9 upgrade is no longer available from RTC Solutions (previously named RunTime) in Bremen, Germany. I think I was probably the last to have my Maxxum 9 upgraded in November 2015. RTC-Solutions was bought by Benway Solutions GmbH, Bremen, Germany on 30 November 2015 and that ended the Minolta 9 upgrade availability.
My Minolta 9 was upgraded but there was a problem with the upgrade and I had to send it back for repair. Benway was nice enough to handle the repair since it was sent back right at the time of transfer from RTC to Benway. Since that time my Minolta 9 was just fine unless film is loaded in the camera (what good is that). Benway would not repair it and refunded my money for the upgrade. Now I have an upgraded Minolta Maxxum 9 camera that will not work when film is loaded. Does anyone know of a reliable camera repair facility in the USA that will repair a Minolta 9 camera? Best regards, Dave |

Hello,
Is there any new information on this topic? I am a new 9 user and would like to get the SSM upgrade if it is available. Thank you. |

There will not be any new updates to this topic . The last firm on Earth that did this job ceased to do so a year or so back , as mentioned in this thread . The parts needed , equipment and calibration gear is no longer in existence . The only way you'll have an SSM enabled Dynax 9 is if you buy a used one that has had the upgrade already . |

Cheers Neil. Maybe one day a stash of parts and tools will be found and an enterprising person will start offering the service!

That would be nice , but I very much doubt it .
You can still find SSM capable Dynax 9's on ebay , not cheap , but the cost of the upgrade ,when it was available ,plus the camera is about the same . By selling your own Dynax 9 , it's about the same amount of money . I've been thinking about gettiong one myself , I regrety not having mine converted when it was available . I tend to prefer the Dynax 7 though , and only having a few SSM and SAM lenses , I tend to just stick with the Dynax 7 , which work fine with these lenses . The Dynax 5 & Maxxum 70's that I have also work fine with them , so I haven't diceided on getting a SSNM Dynax 9 yet . Most of the lenses I use are the older mechanical drive Minolta lenses . |

Considering that the most recent cost, given in this thread, of converting a '9, VAT, and freight to the US, was 400 Euro, I would suggest that one or two of the currently available SSM 9's from Japan could be bargains!

I can offer you a „like new“ ADI/SSM upgraded Dynax 9 with grip in original boxes, all papers included, possibly. The owner has two or more and wants to sell one of them afaik. I could ask him, if he is really willing to sell and to ship overseas. The shipping to the US would be appr. 20 € ( Maxibrief, slow shipping, no tracking possible) I shipped the last upgraded cameras to the US and SA that way. Everything went well!
If you are interested in a deal, send me a pm, please. |
