Just managed to have some shots with my newly converted nex camera and my lovely 24/1.8 zeiss.
No hotspot at the moment with a 720 nm filter mounted on it. I wait for the filter adapter to test also my sigma 60. I will update with more info |

Here's the update:
Sony Zeiss 24/1.8: no hotspot both at 720 & 590 nm with my full spectrum Nex 3n. Sigma 60/2.8: no hotspot both at 720 & 590 nm with my full spectrum Nex 3n. I can also confirm nice operation of sigma 30 2.8. This sigma trio ( together with the 19 I read performs well too) appears to be terrific in IR at a really appealing price! |

Most of my IR is shot on adapted lenses using a converted A7ii, but I have used the FE28-70 F3.5-5.6 OSS a fair bit too. Not spotted any hot spot issues on that one
![]() I've also taken a few shots with my Samyang 14mm/2.8 ED AS IF with no major issues apparent. My copy is quite a long way out on focusing distances (even when just shooting visual light) so I can't gauge if focus shift might cause difficulties. I won't try to advise on the adapted lenses ![]() |

Hello
I use a converted Sony A7 M2 I found this web page https://www.edwardnoble.com/hotspots I tested some of the lenses mentioned there by my self and can support the ratings according to my own testing I have tested by myself the Sony Zeiss 55 f1,8 , no Hotspot The Tamron 28-75 has in, some light conditions, hot spots and more by stopping down. I tested some of the old Konica manual Glas and can support the good performance. In the moment I use mainly the Minolta 28-85mm works grate During this year I plan to test more of my old lenses, keep you updated. I can add two:
Laowa 12mm f2.8 - horrible hotspot from f5.6. Wide open & f4 not too bad but suffers from Vignette Sony 16-35 f4 - not hotspot I can see in my images all shot between f4 and f9, growing from f11 Edited by Tricky01 - 25 March 2022 at 12:38 |
