Last tuesday (August 17) Aditya (aditya), Vinay (vinayn) and me (pegelli) got together for what is likely to be the first Dyxum meeting in India.

Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs, we got stuck in traffic, and it was after sunset so we didn't take much pictures. On the other hand we had a very enjoyable evening with lots of talk about photography and other things, enough beer and food and a very enjoyable atmosphere. I can assure you these two Indian gentlemen are excellent hosts and very good company.

We ended up in a sportsbar where the self timer helped us get the obligatory group shot. I'll post a few later when I have time to PP, nothing exciting though. Aditya alo took some shots so maybe he can post them here as well.

From left to right you see Vinay, Pieter and Aditya:

Having Pieter over in Bangalore and having a get-together was great fun. Due to the heavy rains and Traffic we were not able to shoot outside together but Pieter has promised that the next trip to Bangalore he will make some time on the weekend and we can go out for a shoot.

It will be a good idea to have full fledged Dyxum get together in India, given the fact that we quite a few active Indians on this site Such as Brendon, Santanu, Aditya, Arun, Thomas, etc.

Thanks for all the responses, didn't think an ordinary picture like this would generate so much discussion.

I was already honoured these two guys came all through the Bangalore rush hour to meet with me as some kind of "spur of the moment" action that we set up a week before my trip. Next time we'll announce sooner and I would love to meet you, allthough travel distances in India might get in the way to get all members attending.

Should we have focussed on the lenses instead?

My employer sends me all around the world on these short trips, unfortunately (noy yet) to Thailand.

Don't hold your breath for any exciting pictures from the meeting. It was already dark in the evening when we started and the weather was very bad and Vinay didn't have his camera with him so it's only Aditya and me who have some pictures. Below is all I have and to be honest, don't think they're particularly great and post-worthy , but since you guys all insist ......

Aditya:

Aditya and me (taken by Vinay with my cam):

Aditya setting up a group shot with his camera (and I think one of my lenses):

Taken by Vinay using Aditya's 500/8 mirror lens (a sports bar is not an ideal environment to test this lens, especially if you have to shoot through the dirty glass of the booth we sat in:
