Nice one Rosie -- I can see you and LTTay (plus some others) staging a War of the Roses.

Nice job Rosie! That's interesting because I think my long-stemmed Roses here are from Columbia too. What's also funny was I used to buy them for my wife then end up photographing them, so now, whenever I would buy some for my wife, I would buy a separate flower for myself so that her's is truly her's.
Here's a dried/preserved rose...

taken with the 5D, maxxum 50/3.5 macro, tripod, MF, f/4.0, 0.4 seconds.

I've been trying to improve my technique with flower photography, so I've been shooting a lot in the garden. As yet, most shots get the delete treatment. I've been going through them all and have found a few that I'm happy with. Here are 3 from Monday. All with a700 and CZ135, hand held and natural light.

Thanks Pavel. It's a pretty similar image to your own very well done shot, except that I cropped to 8x10 to get rid of a bit too much foreground.

Here are a couple of lily shots from July with the CZ135, handheld, natural light. The 1st is @F5, the 2nd @F10.

@Dumont: love the 1st one. The last feels like I need to get closer to the flower, but the flag bokeh is well done.
