Roy,

A wonderful set each with its special qualities. Do you mind sharing lens info and aperture used an do you attribute the sharpness to the lens, image stacking perhaps, your post processing to include sharpening process, etc.?

Svjetlana
Beautiful - pic 1 - love the way that the reproductive parts of the plant "sweeps" out from the flower, it almost has a fluid feel to it - plus lovely detail with the main flower and then the blurring of the rest - very nice

Some close up flower pics from the village show today. All with A77, Sony 50 F1.4 and using A77 flash.

Pic 1 - Fuschia next to church pew

Pic 2 - Fuschia resembling ballerina

Pic 3 - Bird like Fuschia

Pic 4 - Face on the orchid

Pic 5 - Mix of flowers and colours

Pic 6 - Lilly? - no, don't think so

First time I have tried using the flash, normally stick to natural light. Any comments therefore very gratefully recieved.

Graham: thank you. Yes, I can see the "fluidity" as well, very well described.

I am not fond of flash as well but you did nice job.

Actually it is Fuchsia, named after Leonhart Fuchs, but then there are so many common misspellings - fucsia, fuscia, fushia, fushcia.

Anyway, this is easy - a budding lotus

Your version of the plant up close looking like the polyp is much nicer!!! But don't tell the plant.
