Ian, glad you kept an A-mount camera to still post here once in a while. These are nice shots for the kit-lens, it's really not as bad as some people want to make you believe. Would probably have liked a bit more dof on most shots, to show some more sharp texture in the beautiful petals.
Pavel, these orchids are "jumping" off the screen and really pop with sharpness and saturation. If that's what you wanted you achieved your goal, allthough a bit more gentle approach would have worked just as well given the subject. BROGUEIRA, nice shot, I like the atmosphere and the muted colors and most of the use of shallow dof. Only I find the two oof red poppies in front of the sharp flowers a bit distracting. Don't know why but somehow I always get more distracted by oof elements in front of the plane of focus vs. behind the plane of focus. Maybe just a personal thing
