From Durango to Silverton - On the San Juan Skyway

A cloudy, drizzly day. Mountain passes. Winding roads. Low lying clouds. I loved it.

This was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. With my wife at my side. Beauty all around. We will visit the area again. What a skyway. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments. I was hoping for rain, and we did get quite a bit of it while we were there. I was really glad that our late start (towards Silverton) was not ruined by overwhelming, bright, overhead sun (just kidding). I love clouds and fog. I am glad that I was able to bring back some memories. Each trip is its own thing. When we were in Santa Fe eigth years ago, my mom was with us and the kids still listened to us. And while they still do, the older one travels do not coincide with hours and the younger one is about to be done with his undergrad. When we went to the wedding, I noted that I saw the bride's mother get married in upstate New York more than thirty years ago and now my cousin's kids are the one getting married. Time has marched on, people change, but when we get together with family everything old, while still old, is somehow new again. And no scenery or place in the world can eclipse that. Though I have to say, it's not without trying.

I mean. Colorado's wedding laws are new to me. Strange, eclectic and memorable. Just like the fog in the mountains, what one could see was wonderful. And like the wedding, there was a lot of joy. Thanks again.
