Hi there!

Just in case anyone is interested, I have just listed a few Sony bits on Ebay...

a58 +18-55 kit - HTTP://ebay.us/ZzyImI?cmpnId=5338273189

a58 body only with faulty flash - http://ebay.us/H3CJCh?cmpnId=5338273189

a58 parts graveyard - http://ebay.us/PTLYp2?cmpnId=5338273189

Not strictly in the Dyxum remit, but not too far out...
Sony CX450 HD camcorder - http://ebay.us/WIoQaG?cmpnId=5338273189

I'm moving abroad so all these little bits have got to go - I believe the issue with the a58 with the faulty flash is the bulb itself (I'll include a spare). I'd love to fix it myself but I am rapidly running out of time

How much are you looking for inc postage for the either of the A58
What is the condition and shutter count of both.

Cheers
Dave :)

Hi Dave

If you click the links it will take you to the respective ebay page where I have described their condition as best I can & with photos.
I have no idea what the shutter count on them is - I have not owned either of them from new & I'm not aware of how you can get a shutter count off Sony cameras.

Price wise I don't know... looking at ebay completed listings the a58 kit has gone for anything between £118 & £300, though I don't expect top $ as it isn't mint!

The one with the faulty flash is even harder to guess, but I would imagine would go for a lot less - potentially a bargain basement way to get an a mount camera, especially if, like me, you never use the inbuilt flash!

I'm intending to let the auctions run & there is only 4 days left, but throw some numbers at me if you want to beat the auction

Thanks
Alex

Alex

Got any better pictures of the broken flash camera, does it function correctly apart from the flash issue ?
Is the spare you have the whole unit from the other parts bundle you have or just a new tube ?

Cheers
Dave :)

Sorry for the slightly slow response - been a little busy

Running through the shutter count tool gives 4440 for the broken flash camera (10153 for the kit one)

I took it for a quick run tonight & ran it through as many options as I could & all seemed to be working well. Video, mode dial, steady shot, white balance etc all seem to be working fine. Compared to my a99 the focusing struggled a bit in low light (as to be expected!) but using the 135 1.8, when it did get focus it was spot on (seemingly better than my a99! lol)
I'll add a shot or two to the listing if I can.
I can't find my hotshoe adapter to test the hotshoe (my only flash is the old Minolta hotshoe). The joys of moving & having everything all over the place

It's just the flash tube I'll be including - I can imagine it may be tricky to replace, but so will the whole flash assembly & I don't have a spare of the whole assembly sorry.

I don't know what shots you would like to see other than those on the listing? It is in good condition overall except for the scratches on the rear screen &, obviously, the non working flash. Let me know if you want to see something in particular.

Thanks
Alex

Replacing the flash tube looks to be a fairly simple operation, pop the flash up and then remove the battery and you're just 2 screws away from replacing it.

This is for the a57 but probably the same procedure for all Sony pop ups.

Yup - just the two screws gets access to the tube
Except the tube is soldered to the wires... I would try it myself, but I have no idea which box I have packed my soldering iron into
