Yes, there is. Sometimes there are things you want to set, but you cannot for what feels like some arbitrary reason. But what you describe is the reason I consider Sony menus better then Canons: with Canon you only have limited customization possibilities, with Sony it feels endless at times, indeed.

Canon sometimes is a bit too constrictive.

I sold my laowa 100mm macro (Canon EF version) to a friend. The lens chip for whatever reason reports it as an EF-S lens. On sony you simply turn off the APS-C crop mode. On canon R5 no such option you HAVE to shoot in crop mode. In the end he had to ship the laowa lens all he way to China to have it re-chipped!
I had a better idea sell canon and buy sony but some people are just not rational like me

And even with that amount of customization I still managed to screw the settings for my "new" BIF mode! Left the tick in next to exposure compensation so nothing I did today for BIF came out right. White birds all blown out and the one raptor against a blue sky a black silhouette.

I'd like a bit less customization. I am still pretty lost using the A7RIV.

I noticed that it was stopping down lenses to about F3.5 all the time in live-view even in manual focus whatever the aperture I had set--like a return of the SLT. I found I had turned Setting Effect OFF.

Why does it keep writing to Slot 2 when I thought I told it to use Slot 1? Oh, nevermind, I had set "MR Select Media" to Slot 1 which is evidently not the setting for where saves go.

I still miss the old fixed Fn quick menu--the one that was just like the "Display All Info." screen that still exists. Why does the "For viewfinder" screen operate as an Fn menu but not the "Display All Info." screen? Does the "Display All Info." screen display all information? It doesn't display focal length or focus distance or the attached lens. The camera has a lot on information it doesn't display.

You're the perfect Canon shooter, you even prefer the Canon 200/2.8L over Minolta 200/2.8G

I know, why have I avoided Canon SLRs? I still like my old PowerShot S1 IS.

There's plenty of Canon lenses I don't care for. I would still like to compare the Minolta 100 F2 with the Canon. A fabulous E-mount one will probably be announced before that happens. 135L prices have risen quite a bit recently.
