There's a similar scenario in York, where this advert is repainted whenever it gets too faded. The scaffolding and paint must cost quite a lot to advertise a defunct product.

Another 'ghost' is this sign on the wall of a pub in Newbury. At the time I took the shot in 2015 it was only days old. In this case the 'ghostly' aspect is that it no longer exists, the next refurbishment saw the wall repainted.

This is really a ghost sign (fully covered in white):



It's the same wall as the last image from this post on page 1

What I understand of the newspaper articles about it there was a fight between the historic value of the painted sign and the building code regarding insulationthe owner had to follow when renovating this house. As you can see the building code won
