Noted in the flickr group "-I Love Nature" group rules:
"Due to the overwhelming amount of bird photos we are receiving the number of daily accepted bird pictures is limited to allow some balance in the pool."

The dictionary official definition has nothing to do w the current usage of the word. Surprising how lagging the dictionary world is. Agreed an update seems needed.

I thought it interesting, at least in some flickr land, that limitation on bird pictures was necessary.

Addy - we have, in the past, had a somewhat 'freer' interpretation of Nature on the Photo. Soc. I am in here in the UK which then created all sorts of issues, not least of all in one instance having to have a debate with the Judge part way through the competition as to what qualifies as a 'Nature Image'! We now go by the definition laid down by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain - but even that is a little vague in places....

As I keep on saying at work - it's all about the definition of what you want us to do; you define it - we'll do it!
