I miss living by the sea, I was born on the Essex seaside. Great collection depicting the corrosive power of the sea.

Objects don't have to be beautiful to get good photo's. I like old stuff. The horizon in #4 is rotated and my favorite is #8 here as i like the background, although here too i suspect a slight rotation. TFS Phil

Thanks guys.

Lee - I almost didn't use #7, the subject at is a bit too central for my taste (the square crop was all top and bottom). However, I am enjoying your old lens - thanks again!

Michel - you're quite right about the rotation - here they are a bit straighter:

8a.

And one more rather extreme crop:

Hi Phil.

A subject most definitely close to my heart and you've managed a fine job of these. I'm drawn to the fact you've used almost exclusively a very narrow DoF to bring the eye to the part of the subject that you find interesting and this works really well throughout these.

You've picked up on the comment about the rotation of the horizon - so easy to miss (I know; guilty as charged over the years!) but it's odd how, even with such a narrow DoF the eye is still able to spot that inconsistency.

If I had to choose any out as favourites, it would have to be the third, fourth, fifth and sixth images as they show this isolation combined with something really interesting to look at very well. I particularly like the sixth image for the off-centre alignment and the addition of the horizon by way of balance and contrast.

I also have to ask a question of you: where was the location? It has a vague S.West coast look to it but there aren't enough other markers to make it obvious!

Thanks for sharing these and best regards, Neil.
My Mantra: "Comment on other's work as you would wish to have yours commented upon". Go on - it's fun!
