Thanks Harm.

Here you go, and for this day I will deviate from my own imposed restriction of 5 pics/day.

We visited Cortina d'Ampezzo, a place know for some from wintersport. The Winter Olympics were there in 1956 and will return in 2026.

There we went up to over 3300 meters via three cable cars to see the impressive heights of the Dolomites. On our way back we stopped at the Lago di Santa Groce.

#55 A first view on the mountains

#56 This is just the view from the parking of the Tofana cable car

#57 Underway to the first level (at 1778mtrs)

#58 Good views form there already

#59 But there is more up there!

#61 Wildlife at approx. 2.5km height

#62 Summer view on winter sport area

#63 And the views get a bit rougher too

A great instalment depicting your journey, Fred! #59 is, of course, the most breathtaking and my favorite in it. Hope to see more (Lago di Santa Croce?)!

TFS!

#64 Hmm, the last bit of the ride with the third cable car

#65 The panorama deck ....

#66 Let's walk the last part up for e few hundred meters

#67 The clouds start to break up!

#68 It became an amazing experience with views coming and going

#69

It's not easy to capture this almost spiritual experience in a picture
More in a next set

Encouraged by the inclusion of #69 in the weekly exhibition, I'll continue with a few more.

#70 I wanna go up there too

#71 Worth the climb

#72 And a closer look om the Cinque Torri (in the background on #71)

#73 Better sight on the way down than up (#64) in the cable car

#74 Cable car in IR

#75 Back on ground level

TFL. We're almost there!

Great set, again!

I like the IR image very much - but for me #72 is clearly outstanding - it conveys an otherworldly mood!

TFS, Fred!

Wonderful to see.
#72 and #73 are my stand-outs.

59 is scary, 64 is surreal, the chairs thing is quite bizarre, Black and Whites are the best. All are Fabulous
Your presentation is like a fireworks show, the Big Bang at the end

That is a kind way to manage expectatuons Joseph!
So here is the remaining flurry smoke at the end of the fireworks.

#76 The old olympic ski jump in Cortina d'Ampezze.
It is in a terrible and unusable state. They really need a new one for the next winter Olympic games there.

#77 Somewhere underway back to our accomodation

#78 And a few from Lago di Santa Groce.

#79 At the south end of the lake

#80

#82 And another boat that just arrived

#83 And a last nice sunset back 'home'on our last evening of our hiliday there

Well, that's is for now. I hope you liked it.
Thanks all for looking and your kind comments.
