Hey vitor - care to let us know of the mods? It's GPL'd and I'd be happy to patch it if you have an unambiguously good addition.

Hi William,
they were basic modifications to make it work with file generated by the Dynax 7. Can't remember if I did other modifications to the 9 scrip though. Later I will do a diff with your version and let you know. |

A stupid question - did anyone try to use the DS-100 on Maxxum 9?
I am asking because I have a problem with reading the data from my DM-9 on my PC (I can read it on the camera) and I thought maybe I can use the DS-100... However, I am a little afraid to try it... |

Sounds like your card reader has issues.

I started a different thread about the problem with my card\card reader\DM-9 - http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/problem-with-dm9-card_topic58453.html. But since I already answer you here, the card reader works with the card from the DS-100. That's why I an thinking of using the DS-100 for the Maxxum 9. And even without the DM-9, the 9 saves some data and maybe it is possible to get it with DS-100. |

I didn't try, but I would doubt it would work on the 9. A specific protocol is used between the camera and DS-100, no other camera as this protocol implemented that I know of. |

Unfortunately, this won't work. The Data Saver DS-100 works only with the 7 and 7 Limited. Studying the patents, Minolta seems to have planned to further build on this, and that the DS-100 was only the first representation of such a data exchange device, but still, the 7 and 7 Limited remain the only bodies featuring the lens protocol extensions for the Data Saver. It might be interesting to note, that these extensions seem not to be based on the normal SPI protocol used for communication with lens ROMs/CPUs, but seem to be based on the USB protocol. Presumably, not the support for (D) or SSM lenses but this approach to multiplex two very different protocols over the same set of signal wires may have caused most of the compatibility problems with Sigma lenses. Thanks Vitor and Matthias - as usual, very helpful and knowledgable.
Maybe I should really start to learn German as all my German friends suggest me all the time... ![]() Anyway, from what I did manage to understand, I am not the only one who asked this question. Now I feel less stupid... |

As a little aid for foreign guest readers, I have incorporated a small yellow babelfish symbol at the bottom of the pages. If you click there, you will invoke an English online translation of (a reduced view of) the page. At the bottom of this page, you can switch back to the full view, still translated to English. At the top of those translated pages, you can find a menu where you can choose other languages as well. (Unfortunately, this only works for guests, not for logged-in members.) Greetings, Matthias |

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but am I right in thinking this software (dm9toexif.pl) does not work for Dynax 7 / DS-100 sourced files?
If so, is anyone aware of a program that will do the job of updating EXIF data in JPG files using the DS-100 .txt files as a source? I'd appreciate greatly any help anyone feels able to offer! |

I have a modified version of that script that works with my DS-100.
here Don't forget to modify the lines 258 and 259 or I will get the credits for your photos ![]() $exifTool->SetNewValue("Artist", "Vitor Fonseca"); $exifTool->SetNewValue("Copyright", "Copyright, Vitor Fonseca, All rights reserved"); This version of the script will also work with TIFF files. Thank you Vitor for providing the script that would work for the DS-100. Sorry, I tried to use the link you show and received a "Page Not Found" error. Can I trouble you to check this link?
