What are "AE" and "MM" lens hoods? Examples? Thanks.

They are different iterations of Yashica/Contax lenses. AE was the original C/Y bayonet with automatic aperture indexing and open-aperture metering, which is similar to the original Nikon AI F mount and the vanilla (K/M) Pentax K mount, and only supports A and M modes. MM added linear aperture movement, and allows supporting bodies to control the lens aperture, therefore allows P and S modes, similar to Nikon AI-s F mount lenses and Pentax A-series K mount lenses.

The internal mechanical structure of some MM lenses differs from AE lenses, but this is relevant only if you plan to modify your lens to another mount using the Leitax replacement mounts. MM lenses were made later so may have better coatings, but my experience shows that the T* coatings on AE lenses are already very impressive.

Or: the difference between Contax AE and MM lenses is comparable to the difference between Minolta MC and MD lenses - the latter version allows for program mode and is newer.

(I guess, around here more people are familiar with Minolta)
