AA and AAA battery holders, pack of 8 for... wait for it, $1.60. And then 90c postage on top of that. Score!!

Good for keeping the batteries for the various devices together (flashes mostly) so the batteries don't get mixed up. I only load them up when I am about to use them so this provides a neat way to store them on the shelf and in the camera bag.

Since my flashes use batteries four at a time I find these a little more useful for me:

I suspect we are talking about the same thing.

You're right. When I looked it up on the U.S. eBay by description it took me to holders for eight batteries, not for four batteries.

The pop-up shades you buy (I think the company is Delkin?) are useful.

I always snap off the pop up shade bit and have the plastic cover and eyepiece attached to the camera. It protects the screen much better can be removed and cleaned without problem.

Years ago I walked in to the kitchen and found and found my old Minolta 5D camera with the screen smashed. God know how it had happened (I'm guessing Danielle had knocked it on to the floor in the night or something). The camera was binned.

Point is, with a decent screen protect (Like the pop up shade), the cameras become virtually bullet proof. I have them attached to a 7D and an A700. They've all been dropped at weddings (The wedding guests hear me swear in blind panic!), but the cameras live on...

I also think one of those pens for cleaning the sensors are good too - come in useful on many occasions... I can't believe how easily dusts gets in to the cameras!

For a camera with an articulating screen, such as the a77, the factory screen protector (or equivalent, if you can find one) is a must. The screens are easily scratched. The thick, third-party screen protectors I've seen will not allow the screen to be properly parked in reversed (screen towards camera) position. I haven't tried a hood. Are there any that will work with the a77 and are easily removable?

Actually, it was exactly the same thing. First, I was wrong about the holders being for eight batteries. It was the same as you ordered -- eight 4-battery holders. Anyway, I ordered four 4-battery holders for $1.49 US, including shipping, and they sent eight!

I really don't understand the economics of this. U.S. domestic postage for this would be more than $2.00. How can they ship from Hong Kong for $1.49 including shipping?

GGS has a screen protector specifically for the a77/a65 that attaches and does not hinder the screen from rotating and seating correctly. I have one on my a77 and it works great. Think I got it off ebay.

How does it differ from the Sony protector? Also, does it include a protector for the top LCD?

The screen protector I got from b&h which I take to be the Sony product allows me to park the screen as well. It also came with the top screen protector

For me, the Herringbone hand strap (type 1 - with the base plate included), has become the latest indispensable accessory. It is an all leather hand strap that mounts to a camera's corner strap ring and to a base plate which screws in to the tripod socket. It is a bit fiddly to attach first time around and took me 3 or 4 attempts before I got it just right (no fitting instructions were included). You can get other similar hand straps for less, usually made of nylon, rubber or faux leather (PU), but my confidence in them is not the same in that only leather gives you peace of mind by offering both the strength and the comfort in the material used.

Now, it just works a treat, being very comfortable to use and gives a strong reassurance that my hand grip on the camera is well supported and helps steady the camera reducing camera shake when shooting hand held. When fitted, it means I can dispense with the bothersome neck strap and just drop the camera in the shoulder bag when I don't need to hold it any more. Similarly, I have found that as useful as it is, I can dispense with the Black Rapid style of shoulder strap, only because I prefer the camera to be resting inside a camera bag/holster rather than swinging in the breeze at the end of shoulder strap. In any case, a great little and relatively inexpensive accessory that combines usability with security and comfort. Highly recommended.
Nothing is as it first appears.

I totally love my credit card sized white and grey cards I bought a while ago for very little money.
Due to their size, I always carry them with me and they have shown to be useful under odd light settings a couple of times in the past.
