Thank you Harald and Fred, glad you like!

@Fred: What are you waiting for?
IR might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's definitely fun to shoot. Of course bear in mind that just because the resulting image will look "different" due to the frequency response of the IR spectrum, not every motif will work in the end. But with your good compositional skills, I have no doubts that you would succeed and enjoy this new photographic endeavour

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a nicely priced NEX 5N, full spectrum converted
A new era of photography will start for me soon with obviously lots of things to learn and experiment. This thread and it predecessors are a good start !

Congrats Fred and welcome to the world of IR

Did you also get an IR filter with the full-spectrum converted NEX?
For a start go with the mainstream and use a 720nm filter first.

Looking forward to see your first steps and results posted in here. And don't hesitate to ask (or shoot me a PM), if you have some questions or need some (IR) guidance
/Michael

Thanks for yoiur warm welcome and offer for help Michael!
The camera didn't come with a filter, but ordered a 720nm to start with indeed.
Took a 49mm, enabling several lenses from my collection, including some Rokkors.

Well, I have a long way to go, looking at your work Michael, but here is my first attempt. Just took a single snapshot to start experimenting with the PP this morning.
Bought an affordable Zomei 720nm filter just to try and learn, but is seems to do the job for now.'
Apologies for the repetitive picture.

A promising start into the IR world Fred
Looking forward to see more of your IR attempts soon, but don't forget to snap some "normal" shots along this new photographic journey, too
