I particularly like the other-worldliness of the second shot in that pair, Fred. Well done

We managed to escape lockdown yesterday and went to the Botanic Gardens (1 minute from home by foot so not a massive escape ;-) ). Wifey walked but, for me it's a bit far, so I rode the eScooter.
I've had three rolls of Kodak HIE infrared in my fridge for 20 years I guess and decided to shoot one and see what it looked like. Processed in Bergger PMK pyro. 1. Wooden Chair Minolta Alpha 7. Minolta 24mm f2.8 with red filter. 2. Bronze Eel Minolta Alpha 7. Minolta 50mm f1.4 with red filter. 3. Steel Reeds Minolta Alpha 7. Minolta 24mm f2.8 with red filter. 4. Symbols Minolta Alpha 7. Minolta 24mm f2.8 with red filter. |

Infrared on film, we don't see that often tehse days.
Well done to post the day after! Certainly some good compositions, but in general a bit too grainy for my taste. |

Thanks. Yep, extreme grain was always a 'feature' of Kodak HIE. I could have reduced it in software as below but decided to present it as it would have been pre digital. Here's a few quick and dirty de-grained versions 1. 2. 3. |

I like these digital infrareds. The first is my favourite but maybe that's because I'm a cyclist too. Hmmmm, my 'old' Sony A7R is worth damn near nothing nowadays: maybe I should get it converted! |
