Hello
Nice to see here infrared pictures and to meet people that use infrared camera I have a undefined Sony A7M2 , use mainly filter between 680 and 720 nm Ones in a wile I use 850 nm filter to make black and white pictures. My main lens is the Minolta 28-85 mm, that has almost no hot spot. I also use the Tamron 28-75 that is sharper but make hot spots in some situations. I like colorful work outs what I develop with capture one pro. Here some samples The embedding do not work ? Here you can find a lot off my IR pictures https://unsplash.com/collections/9278342/infrared-pictures- @ waldo_posth I like the black and white pictures with the strong contrast ![]() @ Idleidolidyll the picture of your wife, well done I like it and if your wife is like my it is better for you she is not visiting this side ![]() Regards Wolfgang Edited by nurWolfgang - 07 December 2021 at 21:19 |

That is a nice collection Wolfgang! Would you mind sharing a few on them and some of your knowledge here with some details on the filters you used?

Hello Fred
sure I will share my experience and pictures as soon I find out how to upload pictures ![]() For the filter I have ordered some Kolari IR filter and the "Kolari Vision IR Chrome Lens Filter“ that are very expensive. the IR Crome effect I found I can do that look in post, with a few clicks. Than I tried some Filter from Ebay, no name products and they work nicely for some there is not even a brand Name two brands I use are Pixonyx and Neewer, they work well. For my different lenses I bought all kind of Filter in many diameters 49-72mm and wave length from 590-650….950nm For color IR pictures I prefer after testing for a wile filter with 680 to 720nm. shorter wave length and above the separation of colors after the white palace is difficult. Between 680 and 720nm I found it quit easy ,after WB, to separate different color channels. I use Capture one after the latest update the magic brush to create masks, dependent on the available colors. I made a little explanation just do not know if it is possible to upload a PDF here regards Wolfgang |

Hello Wolfgang. Thanks so far!
Indeed this is a nice place to meet and share IR experiences. Uploading pictures is described here. As far as I know, uploading a PDF is not possible here. I agree that the 680-720nm range is the 'easiest' for colour. Although my 720 often ends up in BW conversion too (as well as my 850nm obviously). |

Hello Fred
Thanks for the link, I have studied the 12 pages already ![]() So fare no way to embed from Unsplash, in Flickr I am on my limit and would have to upgrade to a pro account again to upload there new pictures. May be I try that hackimage thing one day, but I prefer to take pictures and not to spent to much time on uploading pictures. ![]() May be links will do it until that day I made some time laps in normal and IR if someone is interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLUUPW93N_E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjo-213Rk1Y I tried to make a video how I develop IR with capture one , but that did not work out so well up to now. To run capture one in English I have to set my iMac to English, it is normally German ….. Regards Wolfgang |

The ensemble of the Bavarian lion and lighthouse is probably the most famous sight in Lindau as well as at the entire Lake Constance and has been photographed countless times.
So here another snap of the city’s landmark, but this time in infrared ![]() "Lindau harbour entrance" ![]() a7(converted) + Tamron 28-200/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD + Astronomik ProPlanet IR742 camera-clip filter A visible light shot (same time, same camera, but different filter used) can be seen here. |

That's very versatile with these clip filters on your A7 Michael.
I like this soft tone IR shot. TFS |

Nice composition Michael! Is that a "hot spot" (2/3rds up the tree)?

Nope, that's just a lens flare due to contre-jour shot. If you look closely you can spot the arrangement of the aperture blades. An IR hotspot (which is lens dependent) always occurs dead centre in the middle of the image.

One from Portsmouth at the weekend, processed in Viveza 3 (finally found a good hue channel swap app outside of PS):
![]() And this revisited shot from London last year with 590nm filter (had previously output as a garish and surreal pink and yellow number, but think I prefer this version) ![]() All with converted A7R and 16-35 f4. Pompey pics with 720nm filter, London with 590nm |
