I am trying out a manual 35-70mm Minolta Maxxum I was given. This was shot on macro. I am wondering if this is "sharp enough". It was challenging for me to focus quickly enough on the moving bug! Also, did I take out enough yellow? This huge salsify puff was whiter, but I wasn't sure it needed to be. @retta: I like the shallow DOF and the size of the lady bug. To me, the image is sharp enough for the size of the subject. The colors look fine. The white spots on the bug look true to me, making the color of the dandelion mute.

If you would crop off a good bit of the background on the right side and a little off the top to keep the ratio some that would improve the composition.

Both versions look fine to me, but you should repost especially the latter image in larger size as now it looks tiny and thus it is hard to see the details. Also there is extra set of [IMG][/IMG] tags...

Yeah, much better but a bit more than I was thinking about, I'd like to see all of the dandelion included, that top soft fuzzy bit has a good look to it for me. And yes, please post larger images if you could. We recommend no longer than 1024px wide for best viewing, and that's how I upload them to Flickr already resized to that and then just pick Original size when sharing from Flickr.
