I assume there is, but I've spent enough time trying -- unsuccessfully -- to find one. There are plenty of lists of A-mount camera tele-converters, but I'm looking for a list of A-mount camera adapters -- to allow NON-A-mount lenses to be put on A-mount cameras.
I have two Minolta/Rokkor-to-A-mount adapters, a T-mount-to-A-mount adapter, a YS-to-A-mount adapter, an RMS-to-A-mount adapter, and an M42-to-A-mount adapter -- but there must be more. Has anyone ever seen any list -- no matter how comprehensive or incomplete it is? Edited by XKAES - 17 November 2022 at 01:29 |

I generally go through M42 for which there are lots of adapters.
But some of the adapters you'd like to have won't work, or at least won't give you infinity focus, because of the flange distance. There is a list of camera flange distances somewhere from which you can work out which adapters are possible (most in MF). One of the ones which won't is my beloved Miranda camera (original 4-prong bayonet), which were designed to accept lots of different lenses so the Miranda lenses have to short a flange distance for A-mount (but will work for E-mount ![]() ![]() ![]() There are also a number of adapters with optics inside them that will allow the short-flange lenses to be used. I don't have a list of those either, and they aren't popular for good reasons. You can also get (or make) cross-mount TCs to fit lenses of one system on cameras of another. |

I know all about the flange distance "problem". I don't need a list of flange distances. I'm interested in a list of adapters. From what I can tell from the responses so far is that I'm SOL. |

Look at the flange distance list another way . If it's a distance greater than A mount , a simple dumb adapter can be made , if one isn't already available . Either metal from an engineer's or 3d printed . I've not seen a list for A mount ready made adapters , but I have Nikon F , Olympus OM and Minolta SR adapters that are glassless . The Nikon I've used with a friend's Nikon 500mm f/4.5 . Manual focus , no infinity focus , but for birds the maximum focus distance is much further away than your working anyway. I have T2 mount , Tamron Adaptall, M42 , L39 and RMS thread . Medium format I have a Keiv 88 to A mount shift adapter and a Bronica ETRSi to Nikon F ( it was available in A mount as well ) . I have other adapters , but I forget which just now . Why do you need a list ? Is it just curiosity or are you looking for something specific ? It wouldn't be difficult to compile your own list from scratch . |

It would be more difficult than simply asking if there already is one. I usually try not to re-invent the wheel. |

Well , you've already figured out there doesn't seem to be a list anywhere , as both asking and presumably you've also tried doing a search for one has drawn a blank . There's already been a few posts trying to help you and stating known adapters. So maybe it's time to stop making snarky remarks to people trying to help you and go figure it out yourself . Just a thought . ![]() |

You are the only responder who has said that you haven't seen a list. That and the other three responses does not mean that there isn't one. So I'll wait and see if others can be helpful. I'm not in a rush. As mentioned, I already have a few.
If you consider that a "snarky remark" -- whatever that is -- fine with me. |

And as I said before, a lot of adapters are available via M42 as an intermediate, and some of us have bought chipped M42 adapters which are useful on MF lenses.
If you want lists, there are some here and also this list may be useful, though it's the 'wrong' way. In general, it is easier to search for a particular adapter when you know what you're trying to adapt to what than to find or create a complete list of what adapters are available. You can find adapters to E-mount from almost everything (yes, even Miranda bayonet and 'c' mount ...), and if you're into weird/old/classic MF lenses that's the way to go - google it and buy it. So I really don't see what purpose a list of them would serve, apart from providing entertainment to those who enjoy making lists. |

It seems that people are always looking for lists of one thing or another, as you know. And there are a ton of them out there, such as PHOTOCORNUCOPIA which has an extensive list of all the enlarging lenses -- new and old. And I've put together plenty of lists myself, such as all the large format lenses that FUJI ever made: http://www.subclub.org/fujinon/byfl.htm But I doubt I will create an lens adapter list for the cameras (and lenses) that are specific to me. I use T-mounts and M42 adapters for the lenses that are of that type, and other adapters as well. And I've made plenty of adapters too -- such as getting a Mamiya/Sekor RB67 37mm f4.5 fisheye onto large format cameras. I recently got a like-new Tamron 38mm f2.5 projector lens and devised a focusing adapter for my Minolta and Sony cameras. So thanks for the links. I'll continue to delve into this pit, and report back if I find anything of any use. And on an aside, I keep my eye open for interesting MIRANDA gear for a friend. I just ran across a couple of items that he is not interested in at GOODWILL, but perhaps you are: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/155051447 https://shopgoodwill.com/item/155056166 |

I never saw such list. I doubt such list could be made. But of course I could be wrong. |

well, my response was just to indicate where such a flachedistance list was located.
![]() but i think a list with adapters for a mount would be helpfull for people who just begin out in photografy (me two years back). than you can see if there are any lenses from an old relative that might fit on your camera with the right adapter. espacially since a mount camera's are getting cheaper, the intrest will rise. |

Glassless A-mount adapters for regular 35mm DSLR-lenses are very limited because of flange distance and diameter constrains.
Basically there are just 3: M42 (Pentax m42 tread mount") T-mount/T2 (old Tamron mount, but frequently used for adapting bellows, telescopes and microscopes) Adaptall (newer, but still a rather old Tamron mount) (I don't think any Vivitar/Soligor TX-mount or T4 adapter ever was made for Minolta-A.) Glassless adapters for Minolta SR-mount (MC and MD lenses) may be used for macro only as they will not focus at or near infinity. However, there are several adapters for medium format lenses to add to this list. (Take a look at fotodioxpro.com/collections/lens-mount-adapters/sony-a-mount ) Adapters with glass are basically teleconverters with two different mounts. Several lens mounts can be adapted to allow mounting on A-mount cameras this way, including Nikon F and Minolta SR. Minolta made two types for SR. However, the image is degraded by the glass in the adapter and function (aperture) will be limited. Among the more interesting adapters/converters with glass are the two types of the old "Sigma AF 1.6x multi converter" (MD-MA and AI-MA) for adapting Minolta SR or Nikon F lenses to A-mount and give those manual focus lenses a limited autofocus on all A-mount cameras. |
