Show us... Hinchinbrooke Island, Queensland, Australia
Show us islands of the world is your chance to show the island near where you live, or where you live on, or where you've been- then please choose pictures from your chosen island and either upload to an existing location thread, or if your location is not shown then start as a new thread. The usual Dyxum content rules apply- but to assist fellow Dyxumers inspired to visit locations that are shown, please indicate where in/on your island the photos were taken. This thread is open for C&C and for posting additional pictures. Please ONLY post pictures taken at the island indicated- or start a new thread. --- This set was one of the first taken in 2006 with my then new Konica Minolta 5D, mostly with the Minolta 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens, plus a few with the Minolta 100-400mm APO zoom.. Hinchinbrooke Island is the largest island in the Great Barrier Reef National Park, and back then had accommodation on it, that was later badly damaged in a tropical cyclone and has not been replaced. So now it is a place visited by day trippers, hikers and campers. 1. Unspoiled beach, Hinchinbrooke Island by Joe Lewit, on Flickr 2. Breaking waves on the shoreline by Joe Lewit, on Flickr 3.
