Show us... Lanzarote, Spain
Show us islands of the world is your chance to show the island near where you live, or where you live on, or where you've been- then please choose pictures from your chosen island and either upload to an existing location thread, or if your location is not shown then start as a new thread. The usual Dyxum content rules apply- but to assist fellow Dyxumers inspired to visit locations that are shown, please indicate where in/on your island the photos were taken. This thread is open for C&C and for posting additional pictures. Please ONLY post pictures taken at the island indicated- or start a new thread. 1 and 2 are wonderful with the whole set holding together nicely. #1 - so many layers make this very appealing. #2 - the composition is wonderful and the people add a great bit to the image, showing the scale and providing interest.

Harald; from one Coast to another Coast (sorry, I couldn't help myself) As one who thought your 2 prior Coasts excelled in everyway and thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm not sure this set raises to their level. I did like many of the photos
and I do envy your island hoping Oh yes, stitching 18 images together is a masterful feat. "Hat Tip" at least to me All the best_______Josef Edited by Coast - 10 June 2018 at 22:58 |

To add some night shots from the Playa de Famara region (Bahia de Penedo, the village La Caleta - see #8 above) I want to give an overview first (in daylight) - and also show some surfing activities for which this beach is famous (and very much sought for).

Great work Harald, although i liked the previous series more. Did you make photos of Timanfaya? I was at Lanzarote many years ago, we didn't even have kids then, but it left a big impression. TFS

Great series Harald, I especially like the nightshots allthough a few persons more here or there might have livened things up a bit. And you left the best for last (imo)

Harald, those night shots look so forlorn and deserted. Presumably it was 'off-season". Nevertheless, very interesting and photogenic images as captured and presented by you.
TFS. |

Smart move to use B/W for your fine images, Addy!
The Timanfaya National Park (which is an impressive showcase for a landscape formed by volcanic eruptions only recently) can only be visited by a bus tour which carries the tourists along a loop road which was built in 1950 for the visit of Spain's dictator Generalissimo Franco. The tour buses have tinted (blue) windows. That's the reason why the following images are somehow precarious in terms of color - with the exception of the panorama restaurant they are taken from inside the bus. #33 Cesar Manrique's panorama restaurant in the Timanfaya National Park #34 Timanfaya #35 Timanfaya #36 Timanfaya #37 Timanfaya and the sea Sony ILCE-7RM4A with Sony CZ FE 16-35mm F/4.0 ZA OSS |
