Enjoy the powerzoom and AF. It is a well liked lens and with video the powerzoom makes sense. I feel that is one of those early APS-C lenses that might benefit from a mark II version.

Yeah, Sony now has cameras that fit that 18-105.

Well, if you like the powerzoom you'll probably get a Sony E PZ 10-20/4G at some time

I am in the long process of transitioning from A to E mount, so I will be constantly resetting the clock - probably.
Recently I was close to losing my job, there were some redundancies at the company and quite likely more are coming. So I need to feel safe to buy more, but..

Last year, I believe it was November, GAS struck fast and with precision. More than 3 years with no buy (last time it was E 35 1.8 OSS) and then 2 lenses in one go.

My a6000 finally got a dedicated walk-around lens, the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD (those Tamron names...) that proved to have more distortion than I like, more robust optical stabilisation than I expected and was really sharp even wide open. Despite that distortion, a keeper.

GAS showed its ugly face more with me buying a lens I didn't really need but simply wanted. The explanation to myself was that I have never had anything like that before and I would like to see what it is like to shoot with true birding lens.
200-600 G enters the stage. Additional reasoning behind this purchase was my willingness to switch to E mount in full frame as well (I was already shooting with a6000) so it would fit my next main camera.

It took some time but one day I have found a7R5 well priced. I pulled the trigger in June and that quickly made me buy LA-EA5, NPA-MQZ1K (a bit more fancy charger) and microphone ECM-B1M.

But then I needed to go for a short trip and wanted some nice prime. I have always liked the 50 but decided to check how I would like the 35. So, quickly after I got the a7R5 in my hands I got myself 35 1.4 GM.
Absolutely lovely lens! I never knew lens can be so sharp and wide open too. OOF rendition is beautiful and it turned out to be even better focal length for me than 50.

So two weeks later I thought maybe lets switch that old Zeiss 24-70 2.8 for highly prized 24-70 2.8 GM M2. What a mistake that was... I definitely got bad copy but when replacement copy got delayed I decided I won't wait for it and took my money back. I didn't want to go through it again in case it was a whole bad batch.

By the way, that 200-600 is getting some use, although not that much. Still, I like it very much, and I'm glad I didn't buy Tamron or Sigma. It turns out even though I do not make movies, the fact it is balanced so well and zooms internally is helping out a lot in taking stills too. I didn't expect that. I thought it was important for gimbals only.

Recently there were those redundancies in my company, so my willingness to buy is somewhat smaller as you may expect, but don't think this is the end ;)
I do want to switch my main lens at some point. Maybe I will give that GM another chance or maybe I'll go in a different direction. The 70-200 is tempting too. I still don't have anything wide nor super wide.
I'll report my purchase here when it happens, so far my clock reads about two months :)
