Very difficult one, congratulation to the finalists.
Great job.

I will try to do the excercise done in the last DPC by brettania and comment in everyone of the final ones.

I am not a photographer but you learn by commenting and watching another people's work, so here is:

“The ‘Concorde’ Fontains, Paris” by Spiritx: great technique, clear colors and very sharp for beeing a night shot. I just have problems with how the fountain is cut.

“Sydney Storm” – by Eleshun: very nice shot, I would like to see the city more close to the viewer. Very nice and difficult shot you made IMO.

“Sydney Storm” – by Eleshun: excellent perpective is the kind of photo that I like, I do not like the noise in it, it is on porpuse?

“Postcard from Mostar” by Samir: a postcard and the winner for me. It is a remind to us of what we once builded and what the human stupidity destroys.

“Cleaner” by Cleaner: very nice mood, great shot but I do not like the strong light in the photo. There are zones very dark and another very bright.

“Power of Nature” by phOtOman: great moment you captured here. Too much empty space above for my taste.

“Foggy Night” by Gianluca: Very nice mood, very well done and a nice composition. A very simple subject but great done. My 2nd is here

So at the end:

“Postcard from Mostar” by Samir: 3 points
“Foggy Night” by Gianluca: 1 ponit

PS: Please do not get irritated for my comments, all are winners in my eyes, hope I could take these kind of pictures.
I just want to try to explain my choice to you.

Thank you for your great pics!

There isn't any reason you should apologize for this kind of post, especially not at dyxum.
Once again, thank you !

Hi Sanjuro! Thanks for commenting each picture.. I think it is positive to
know what other people thinks about pictures. I will do the same as soon as
I have the time even if I have already voted.
I like the comment about my picture, and I would like to post it on my
gallery, can I? :)

I have to thank Edwin because he gave me +1pt even if somebody is giving
to me negative points...

Sheesh, what's a bloke gotta do to become a finalist? Seriously though a great bunch of photos yet again, and sooooo hard to choose.

Concord fountains - 3 points.

I may edit my post later to award the 1 point (and post my logic, glad that Sanjuro has started that trend, it's part of what I think this forum has lacked up until now for us non-professionals who just want to learn more), for now I just need to look and think.

A comment to the finalist selection judges / admins, partly in response to "postcards". Many of us lack the resources / skills to take a good shot and convert it to a post-processed shot, and to me such "photos" have drifted away from being a photo. Maybe as we grow the forum and the competition we could introduce two sections / classes ("original" with rules similar to photo.net and "touched up") that the rest of us have a chance.

BTW, I do think Postcards is great and I suspect I am starting the whole art / craft discussion again in the "wrong" forum topic.
