I kinda struggled with today's chosen colour(s), I seemed to encounter far too few suitable subjects compared to wonderful subjects in every other colour (I did take photos of those too, I'll post few later elsewhere), but in the end I had few decent photos to choose from and these two I considered...

Colias palaeno

α99 II + Sigma EX 150 mm 1:2.8 APO Macro DG HSM OS @ 150 mm, f/8, 1/250 s, ISO 100

Common names for this butterfly are moorland clouded yellow, palaeno sulphur and pale Arctic clouded yellow, but somehow I find that the main colour has this green hue that makes it not sufficiently yellow...

My next idea was...

Yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia vulgaris)

α99 II + Sigma EX 150 mm 1:2.8 APO Macro DG HSM OS @ 150 mm, f/5.6, 1/250 s, ISO 400

The flowers are sure yellow, but as whole the picture perhaps has too much green to go into yellow category.

Day 2 B&W/Sepia out-take, a landscape version of my portrait version entry - hard decision as to which to enter:
Labassa with wedding Rolls Royce by Joe Lewit, on Flickr
a99ii, Samyang 24mm f3.5 Tilt Shift, f8.0, 1/80 second. ISO 100.

I've also posted a set of photos taken at this historic site in a separate Open Views post Labassa mansion , mainly in Black and White plus one in full colour. A fascinating reminder of the opulence and wealth that were generated by the Gold Rush of the 1860s.
