So, we are off....
Initially I wanted to shoot with my Sony 28/f2 and/or my Tamron 28-75, but today I replaced a M42 28mm without working diafragma with a Pallas Magenta 28mm f2,8. So that will be my choice for the moment. But, maybe I'll change my mind, you never know. |

Yes, we're off. The Sony 28/2 is fine, but it remains a compromised lens. Waiting for the 28/1.4G

Sunny day, today - and I even discovered that I have a second 28mm lens in addition to my 7Artisans 28/1.4 (for Leica): a Konica Hexanon AR 28/3.5. Those two will bring me through the week (not needing to to use my 28-200 on the short end).
I think about buying a 28mm for E-mount, but have no idea which one. |

Today (day 2) you can enjoy a cartoon about the prof.vanoverstraetenplein in Leuven (by Joris Snaet) - the former 'place fosch in our local leuven dialect'.
For the 2nd consecutive day my duties where interupting my photographical plans, but we do hope you enjoy the cartoon that's hanging out near Alma 1 in Leuven. |

I have jumped in and submitted a Day 1 with my 'rain check' today, and a Day 2. Two out-takes to come and then those pesky thumbnails. It's SEL28F20 all the way!
(Unfortunately I had left my A7 III in APS-C mode, so these two photos are not as wide as I was expecting.) |

I had to shoot again waiting in a traffic jam, but today shot out of another car with another camera with another lens. Nothing the same.
Tomorrow I'll try something else |

I was a bit behind. Had intended to try to do a different lens each day, but I just took the one to Hamburg and didn't like the stuff I took when I got home.
I was surprised at how well the a7iv deals with the Biogon - it is notorious for magenta corners due to the angle of the light projected from the back of the lens, but these seem to be reasonably clean. |

So far so good - ie not great! Grey weather, far too familiar place. 28mm has never been a favourite (Week 35 anyone?) and the SAL28F28 is hardly stellar, but it works well enough. By the end of the week I hope to have got my eye in for this FL.
Tommorrow might be a bit better, I am aiming to do a photo walk in Oxford, which I know, but is not quite so familiar, and there's a lot more there. I might try my weird Min 28mm f2 at some point - I'm pretty sure the helical has been assembled incorrectly after an amateur repair/clean resulting in no infinity focus but quite interesting close-ups. 28mm is a favourite of mine, but I lack inspiration.
Like Phil said, "the SAL28F28 is hardly stellar, but it works well enough." And I could also try the Minolta AF 28/2.0 - but that means manual focus. I am game for a week 35. |

So, on my way to work this morning I stopped near Alblasserdam to shoot the bridge there. At home tonight I discovered that, despite that my viewfinder indicated sharpness on the bridge, the photo isn't as sharp as I want it to be.
I'll have to check the micro settings, I guess, if possible. |

It's a bit to be ashamed about, but it's one of the first times i tried out the macro-mode on this lens. In fact you have to do it all manual, but at least you get some focus confirm, so we hope it's nicely in focus and yes it was on all images i took in this modus. Tomorrow we'll move to the kitlens on the A7III (also locked on 28mm).

Dang, missed a chance to take photos today. No real excuse - just forgot to take one with me when I left the house. Are we allowed two rain checks in a single week?
