I love everything about this picture Steve. It looks so old-fashioned. Not only processing but everything else as well. What I love the most are facial expressions of these boys, their closeness, hands gently touching each other and laughter which is almost contagious. I wish I know what they are laughing so hard about? Unfortunately most kids these days are not like this so that is why this image looks so nostalgic and so beautiful to me. It looks like an image from 60's or 70's when human closeness and affection was part of usual daily life. It looks a bit like candid photo of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Thank you for that.

It has the togetherness of the physical touch. This is how I grew up as well. The intimacy and togetherness of the youngsters is truly appealing to the heart!

Thanks Svjetlana and Sashi! My boys are triplets so they're used to sharing personal space. In this case I took them outside to burn off some energy and after a few foot races it turned into a roughhousing match with all three shrieking with laughter. Fortunately my neighbors don't mind the noise.

As for the shot, I did intend for the black and white to help emphasize their expressions. I mainly did it because their clothes were distractingly bright colors and the sunlight was a bit harsh.

I hadn't heard of Henri Cartier-Bresson before. I searched him and yes there are some similarities to my shot and his candid shots of groups of kids. It is interesting how his images of adults have more expressions of sadness or solemnity.

First chance to try out what I class as my "granddaughter lens" on an actual granddaughter. Restrictions has kept us apart for near 3 months now but some easing's allowed outdoors meetups.

Focus with the 70-200G seem to be able to keep up with a moving cutie, though I need to learn to go mechanical shutter on the real rapid moving shots...shots of her on a swing ended up looking rather comical.
