Beautiful shot W., love the oof light are behind the trees. The deer looks surprised .

Agreed on the shot - it's a great piece of natural framing and the light and depth of field works well own your favour here.

I do wonder, however, if it is possible to give the image a small 'adjustment' in Curves (if you have that) to very, very slightly lower the brightness of the highlights and also very slightly deepen the darker tones to isolate the animal a little further? It's not a criticism - just a suggestion to have a look at?

Either way, great capture and especially eye contact with the animal. In the rutting season I hope it was a respectful distance away!

The deers where coming towards us and where at this point about 15 meters away (a more or less guess).
