Oooops. Just some mistake has happened. Second one called "July Sunset" is not taken at Lake Serwy.
It was taken in Suprasl, NE Poland and it shows an Old Orthodox Monastery. My apologies.

On the way home from work, I went for a walk in the Cowichan Bay Estuary. No luck birding, but the sky was fabulous walking back to my car. Too bad I did not have a tripod.

Last Saturday night I drove out to Porteau Cove, on the way from Vancouver to Whistler, BC. to try a little star shooting with my new kit. When I got there the sky was becoming too cloudy...so I improvised.

Amusingly, I find Pegelli's cyclists are a nice mirror to WestCoastCannuck's line of flying birds. In both pics, the lines are essential but subtle parts of the pic.
Hemisfear - good job with that one. The sky and distant mountains look very good, as do the foreground rocks. The light in the woods (left) is a good addition but I'm not sure about the pier on the right. It's rather 'bold' in colour and brightness compared to the rest of the pic and draws my eye away from the sky. Is it possible to recrop? |
