Thanks Kelly, zooming in at 100% of the raw file it's still hard to see but I think it are geese.
Based on the flight pattern my guess would be also geese, I think ducks less commonly fly in these V formations. Also it is quite possible that these are not actually heading that far away since these seem to be quite small formations and geese mainly winter in fairly northern latitudes.

Had a somewhat exciting time photographing waves yesterday at Muriwai. After I'd got enough shots for my 50mm challenge I switched to the Zeiss Batis 135.

#1 Crash

This was taken at a relatively normal 1/320s.

I then tried a couple of slower shots at 1/5s

All taken with Sony α1 and Zeiss Batis 135/2.8 at f8
