It sure was the Grand Canyon and I surely wasn't alone there (even) at that time

That's a beautiful photo, Domien! And it certainly was worth raising early! The interesting cloud formations add drama to the image! Brings to mind Ferde Grofe! TFS

Thanks, Kelly,
I Had to look him (Ferde Grofe) up.
Next thing was finding the sunrise movement of his Grand Canyon suite. And it is sweet.
Tomorrow for the other movements.
Thanks for the link

Domien,

The Grand Canyon Suite was in my parent's LP collection, and I listened to it many times growing up! That was my first exposure to the Grand Canyon. The album had some beautiful photos of the Canyon in its record jacket. Like you, the Grand Canyon was thousands of miles away. We lived in Heidelberg, Germany from 1955 to 1979. My wife and I went on our Honeymoon to the Grand Canyon in 1979. My first real glimpse of that wondrous view! And of course I always have to think of Ferde Grofe's musical masterpiece which for me really paints a picture in music of the canyon!

You must have had a really nice photographic holiday in western US if you were able to visit some of the National Parks out here.

Regards,

Kelly
