Laowa announced full frame AF 10 mm F2,8 Zero-D lenses early this year (AF only for Sony and Nikon, manual for Canon RF and L-mount), to become available in March.
Now, in August, they are still not available. On their website, Laowa/Venus Optics claims shipping has already started, but due to "massive demand" they can't fulfill all orders immediately. That would imply some people should already have received their unit. Did anyone here receive this lens? How is it? If not, does anybody here have any further information what's going on? Can we expect these lenses to really become available, or did they (secretely) cancel them for some (unforeseen) reason? Further, the product website also links an instruction video on how to update the lens, but I did not see any information on why it needs an update, or what the update does. Does anybody here know anything about this update? |

Dealers in Germany obviously have ordered it - but so far it's not available, and no date of future availability is given.
But the lens can be ordered directly from dealers in China - like this one on ebay. Ordering from China will probably entail a considerable customs fee, so it makes sense to wait. |

Thanks. Some German dealers also list delivery from October, so there's no difference to the one on eBay.
Anyway I don't want to buy the lens before I read a couple credible reviews of the E-mount AF version and can be relatively sure that it is as good as I want. |
