The LA-VE1 Monster Adapter for attaching Vectis Lenses to E Mount Cameras has just been re-announced on the LA-EA4r Group Facebook Page. It allows MF, aperture control and automatically focal length recognized 5-axis anti shake on Sony E-mount bodies for all 9 lenses of the short lived Vectis system. No details on cost yet.

I do not know much about the Vectis system. Were the lenses any good?

Yes the lenses are good . Be aware that three of the lenses don't support manual focus so can't be used with this adapter . I did a review of the original adapter when I bought one several years ago . Do a search and you'll find it . I've also put up sample shots of the lenses . |

- H for "High Definition" (30.2 × 16.7 mm; aspect ratio 16:9; 4×7" print) (1.25 crop compared to 36x24mm full frame) - C for "Classic" (25.1 × 16.7 mm; aspect ratio 3:2; 4×6" print) (1.44 crop compared to 36x24mm full frame) - P for "Panoramic" (30.2 × 9.5 mm; aspect ratio 3:1; 4×11" print) (1.36 crop compared to 36x24mm full frame) And the native format for the APS film was APS-H and the other choices were made by cropping from that native size. And remember that the digital camera sensor size APS-C got its moniker from one of these APS image formats, although strictly speaking digital APS-C and film APS-C are not exactly the same size. And even more confusing detail is that once upon time Canon produced the first EOS 1D generations with sensors that had 1.3× crop factor and called this APS-H size, although that was certainly not the same as APS-H film format, especially as the digital sensors were all with 3:2 aspect ratios. |

Ah, you copied from wikipedia. I was baffled why somebody from Europe would use a 4x6" print size in stead of 10x15cm. Come think of it, it is weird to include these print sizes as you could also get 6x9 and 13x18 prints....
Anyway, I have a silver Canon 24-85/3.5-4.5 that was the kitlens for the Canon EOS IX APS SLR. I do not have the camera, but it seems a nice one. But it would be a dead weight as there is no APS film being produced these days AFAIK. |

On the Monster Adapter Facebook page, it has just been announced that the LA-VE1 will be available on Ebay from Oct. 27th, $199 USD with free world-wide shipping.
Our LA-VE1 will enable the use of all 8 lenses of Minolta Vectis system on Sony E cameras with the following features: 1. full electromagnetic aperture control via the body; 2. manual focus of the focus-by-wire design lenses; 3. automatic focal-length detection 5-axis anti-shake with capable bodies; The only limitation is it doesn't enable AF. The supported lens list (all 8 lenses): 17mm F3.5 50mm F3.5 Marco 1:2 400mm F8 Reflex 22-80mm F4-5.6 25-150mm F4.5-6.3 28-56mm F4-5.6 56-170mm F4.5-5.6 80-240mm F4.5-5.6 APO |

It's a shame they haven't got auto focus working .
Regarding the list of supported lens , it seems wrong to me though as the 25-150mm F4.5-6.3 and 28-56mm F4-5.6 cannot be manually focussed . |

I have the original monster adapter and it would have been nice if the 25-150mm worked on it . Unfortunately it's internal focus with no manual focus so you can't even twist the end of the lens to focus like the telephoto lenses . |
