Great! I was wondering if we would pick this up again.
My latest lens list is included with RAWHide. My list mentioned above is a bit more dated. I will update my list in the near future based on some of the info included in some of the other lists. What I would REALLY like to know is where the focus distance data is stored in the MRW & ARW files... |

I have updated my LensID list based on the info from the Dyxum list and some other sources. In many cases, the same lens has multiple ID numbers and/or there are Multiple Lenses with the same ID number. Also there are often multiple versions of the same lens (New, G, HS, RS, II, etc). All of these things tend to inflate the actual number of entries vs the actual number of lenses available.
Anyway, I now have 174(!) entries. However, The Dyxum database has over 300 lenses listed! That means there is a VERY long way to go. The list is available if you download RAWHide or from here... I make no claims as to accuracy... So... It would be great if someone would "Proof-Read" the list and compare it to some of the other lists available. Please send me any corrections or omissions. I am attempting to proofread your csv right now, while adding some additional info, specifically the dyxum database ID code for each lens. The important upshot of this is that we might be able to add all the fields from the dxyum db into this csv with these codes included.
Now is a good time I figure to confirm the semantics of Minolta lens designations. Are we going to write F or f/ ? Next, if an aperture is a whole number, are we going to write it as F4 or F4.0 (or f/4 or f/4.0) for consistency? I presume the "sub id" column is for distinguishing lenses with the same KM lens id? The SubID is just that. It doesn't come from any KM supplied lens data, rather it is a way to keep the various lenses straight. In the case of RAWHide, The user can make sure His lens is called out by adjusting the SubID to 0 in the list.

I'm a good way through my first revision and updating of your table, having removed a lot of redundancies, and also some lenses that I have seen no data on yet.
I have (so far) added two columns: Dyxum Lens ID, and another SubID column for the DyxumlensID for when the same lens (supposedly) has more than one KMlensID. I am also updating the table to include all the lenses in the Dyxum database, even if we don't have the KMlensID. I'm hoping that Kiklop can do something with the dyxum database to insert whatever is in the Dyxum database into our table, to maximize the amount of info available. Perhaps also with the lens id in the table we can provide an option in the program to open a browser window right to the dyxum lens page. |

I have gone thru the new list fairly thoroughly and have found the following lens that have LensID's but no reference in the Dyxum Database. The LenID, Brand, Lens Description... These might be incorrect callouts or brands also.
138 Soligor 19-35mm F3.5-4.5 142 Voigtländer 70-300mm, F4.5-5.6 26311 Sony AF 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 APO 26211 Minolta AF 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 Power Zoom 25521 Tamron AF 17mm F3.5 128 Tamron AF 80-300mm F3.5-6.3 25811 Tamron SP 90mm F2.8 Macro 255 ??? Unpublished Lens I do not know what LensID 255 is... It was the LensID found in an a700 Raw file I obtained. The problem is, I do not know who took the picture. |

The following LONG list is the Lenses that are in the Dyxum lens database that we have not yet been able to find LenID's for. If you own one of these lenses - or - if you know the LensID number please PM me.
The first number is the Dyxum lens database number. Paste the number on the end of this url to see the lens... http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens= Example: to see the Tamron AF 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 Aspherical the url is... I have knocked a few more missing LensID off the list. It is up to 203 IDs found. A new csv file is available here...
Note: This new list is not yet compatible with RAWHide. I plan to add some functionality to RAWHide to help us fill in the rest of the list... Edited by my-spot - 01 December 2007 at 21:15 |

I seem to have found references to two lenses with a 255 LensID... Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical Tamron AF 55-200mm F4-5.6 Di II It would be great if somebody could double check the LensIDs if they have one of these lenses. Lenses with such differing specs usually do not have the same ID. |

Not necessarily.
On the bright side, the focal lengths of these lenses do not overlap, so if the lensID is in fact the same, then we use focal length to narrow it down. |

Sony 100-300 APO lens does not exist. There are like 4 or 5 lenses in the dyxum database that are Tamron 90mm Macro's, so I'm sure 25811 is one of them. Having a photo of which lens may come in handy. |

i dont think there was ever a voigtlander branded 70-300 (a 100-300 or 100-400 is possible as cosina built both focal lenghts)
the tamron 17/3.5 should be tokina if the FL and F number is correctly given, noone else made such a lens. uppublished lens might be a non chipped lens? (m42, zenitar etc) 80-300/3.5-6.3 doesnt look right at all.. it could be only a cheap cosina zoom or not exist. also renaming the Power Zoom to xi would be a good idea. soligor 19-35 is a very possible lens. cosina manufactured 19-35 under a hundred names, was a very widespread lens in its time. Ultrawide for next to nothing! |

414 Arax MC 80 F2.8 Tilt & Shif these lenses dont have chips, no lensID possible. also the 161 sigma 600/8 is a suspect for not having chip inside.. i'm not totally sure tough. |
