Sony ILCA 68.

Sony DT lenses are now not recognized by the camera.

All was working fine until I was doing micro focusing adjustment testing with my Sigma 500 F4.5 APO. Having not full understood the ramifications of attempting adjustment with a non-supported lens, (per the instructions)once I did my testing I cleared all the settings and now the Sony lenses are not recognized.I put a Sony lens on and the Fstop shows as --, and the lens will not auto focus. I can use them in Manual mode, but not the preferred method on a AF camera, right?

Sony Tech support has been of no help, and the bits on the web I have found have not solved my issue. I have reset to settings to no avail.

Has anyone overcome this problem?

My Sigma 500 and my Minolta 300F4 still work just fine. It may just be cheaper to buy another body just for the DT lenses. Though I like the Minolta AF28-105 and the 75-300 beer can better - which still work as well.

A minolta user since 1973.

That sounds like the fuse that supplies power to the lens blew--probably a surface mount fuse on the main camera circuit board.

I had the same issue with my A77ii. I think it is due to a design flaw in the camera. They had to replace the motherboard on my camera. fortunately, it was still under warranty.

I have no answer for you but I seiously doubt if anything is broken or damaged. I have had too many of these "why me" happenings over the years and they usually work out after a day or two. On the bright side, you often learn something.
Suggestions:
1. Remove battery for a few minutes.
2. Reset camera to default settings.

Good luck. Stay calm but keep at it and sooner or later all lenses will work!

If that's the case, then why do three other non Sony lenses work?

Did you have other Non Sony lenses that still worked, or were they non Sony lenses to begin with?

Thank you.

I briefly had an A65 that worked fine with my screw mount lenses, but which displayed the symptoms you've described when I bought my first SSM lens. Fortunately the A68, although second hand and outside Sony's warranty, was still under shop warranty so I could just return it. It ended well for me because I found an as new A77II to replace it.

If your unrecognised DT lenses are SAM or SSM, then it's probably the problem with one of those extra contacts - 5 contacts for screw drive vs 8 contacts for SAM/SSM drive. When I had the issue, I was advised in these forums to try various methods to clean the contacts; although that didn't work for me, it might be worth a try. There's a thread (A65 does not see 70-400) that I started in October 2016 on this if you want to check what was said last time.

If cleaning the contacts doesn't work, whether the parts you might need are available or whether your camera is economically repairable this long after the camera's release I've no idea.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I'm assuming that your camera is out of the warranty period, as otherwise I'm guessing it would have just gone back to Sony for a fix...

Is your camera currently on the latest firmware? I'm just wondering if the firmware would re-input the data for the DT lenses...

Would it be worth getting a quote from Sony for a fix outside warranty?

Do any lenses with motors still work?

Are your non working DT lenses all SAM or SSM?

If it's power to the lens that's failed, then no SAM or SSM lenses would work but the screwdrive ones would.
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras . . .

In my case all SAM and SSM lenses did not work. I did not have sigma HSM lenses at the time. All older lens that are focused by the body through the screw mechanism worked fine.
