These stone towers reminded me of the "Pyramids of Euseigne" in the Val d'Hérens in Switzerland, which I photographed in 1978 (this year 30 years ago ) with an Olympus OM1, probably with the Olympus Zuiko 70-150mm zoom and the slides were scanned with my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III:

Yes, it's nice, well prepared for tourist. It was pleasure to walk in there. And there was beautiful pond with nice greenish water:

There is more in here.

I guess the most impressive rocks I have come across were in the USA. I spent a month travelling round California and other western states in 2004. Forgive the camera (Konica Minolta A1), but it was my first digital camera and dates before the 7D was was produced. And it was light and easy to carry around. Anyway here are a few of the shots I took on our tour.

Yosemite

Grand Canyon at sunset

Lake Powell

Natural Bridges

Capitol Reef

Somewhere west of Capitol Reef

Zion (stitched panorama)

Bryce Canyon

Varios manmade stone and rocks formations from around Idre in northwestern Dalarna, Sweden.

#1: Man made shapes with Mount Städjan in the background.

#2: Stone figure, cropt to portrait moded.

#3: More stone figurs.
Ingvar H from Sweden.

BTW: Failure is always an option / Mythbusters
