Nice skies Michael.
Just wondering: I have an ND8 in-camera filter (similar to yours). I bought it for the obvious advantages (e.g. one filter for all lenses) But I hesitate to use it. Afraid I drop it. Do you change it in the field or at the house? |

Your link doesn't work for me, Domien.
Here's something on Amazon. Interesting product. Never knew something like this exists. |

I think its a great idea, fish eyes and lenses with a bulbous front element can now benefit from l/e techniques.
I remember Snegren experimenting with his own version a few years ago in a monthly challenge. |

Exactly. As long as the image quality isn't degraded it's an excellent purchase. A single set of filters for all your lenses. An additional benefit seems to be to avoid sensor dust. Take out the filter at home in a clean environment and clean it regularly. So a good quality UV filter would effectively mean you can forget about having to clean the sensor. I wonder if it's available for the AF mount. It's bit of a pet peeve of mine that Sony usurped the A letter for mirrorless. They could have continued calling it the E mount. ![]() |
